“You bästärd! You knew what happened to me, and yet you made me look like a bad person to everyone! Why did you hide the evidence?! Was it you? Were you the one who räpëd me? I’ll sue you, Mr. Kulas. I’ll file a räpë case against you.”
Daniela and Alvin finally found Robert’s car parked somewhere in the park. Daniela went to find Romina while she suggested that Alvin find the person with the evidence before Mina got it. Jude couldn’t understand why their mother had done something like that to them.
Kulas started with his ranting, saying that he knew Mryna was a liar from the start and yet they had let her føøl them. Gino got upset and told his father that Myrna was their mother and he couldn’t do anything to change that.
“Don’t raise your voice at me!” Kulas admonished.
Jude held Kulas back as he tried going after Gino. “You talk as if we’re the only ones who believed her,” Gino said. “You’re the one who let her live here, remember?”
“You’re the one who convinced us to take her in,” Jude added. “Because you really thought she was sick. Now you’re putting the blame on us.”
Daniela and Alvin hadn’t been able to find the Mondragons yet. Robert was running to his car, through the park with the CD still in his hand. A group of policemen arrived on the scene and Alvin started firing at them, forcing Mina to duck down for cover from where she stood.
The officers returned fire, striking Alvin in the leg. Alvin managed to take one of them out before making his escape. Meanwhile, Robert was still running with the disc. Daniela saw him coming her way and she hid herself.
Somewhere in the park, Jessa climbed out of a manhole with the money she had just extorted. She got into her car and had a flashback of how she had prepared and put things in place for the Mondragons’ arrival. “Let’s just see if you can still find your money, Romina.” Romina was still agitated when Robert found her.
Some officers came up and when Robert asked why they had fired, they told him that a man, possibly the accomplice of the anonymous caller had fired at them first. Mina told Robert that the woman had used the manholes to get the money past them.
“But I did something so that we can track her,” Mina added. Flashback : Romina told Bonita that she wouldn’t allow ‘that woman’ to outsmart her or get away so easily. She then hid a tracking device under the money in the bag.
Present : Romina told Robert that she was sure the woman knew something about what happened to her back then and she wouldn’t rest until they caught her. Kulas came out of the house and found Myrna still there. He threw out her things and told her to never come back. Gino watched from inside as his mother cried and kept pleading for forgiveness.
At the Mondragon Mansion, Cassie was getting worried about her parents. After talking to Romina on the phone, Neil told Cassie that things had gone well but her parents couldn’t come back home because they had to settle some things. Cassie was overwhelmed. “Does that mean they’ll find the person who räpëd mamma?” she asked. “My real father?”
“Cassie, are you sure you really want to meet him?” Esther asked.
Cassie shook her head vigorously. She looked vengeful. “No, nanny. I want him to pay for what he did to mamma.”
Back at Kulas’ house, Gino and Jude watched as their mother kept on crying outside. Gino suggested that they have a talk with their father so their mother didn’t spend the night on the streets. Jude however was still upset that their mother had lied to them. “You think this is easy for me, Gino?” Jude asked. “She made us look like idïøts. Put that in your head.”
Marga was happily having dinner with her father. Carlos asked whether she would like anything else but Marga said she was okay. She then began humming. “I guess you like singing too,” Carlos commented. “I thought dancing was your only thing.”
“Yeah, sometimes,” Marga replied. “When our dance troupe has a concert, we also sing so that there’ll be a greater impact.”
“Then invite me to your next concert. I’ll watch.”
Marga was excited. “Really, daddy?”
Carlos nodded. “It’s nice knowing more about the things you like.”
“Thanks, daddy.”
Carlos then had a phone call. “Hello, Gino. Why did you call?”
“Carlos, where are you?”
“I’m with Marga. I’m having dinner with her.”
“Can you come over to the house? We have a big problem.”
Alvin had gone back to the gambling den and Hector was scolding him for his recklessness as a guy attended to his guñshøt wound. “What if the cops caught you? Our plans would have been ruined.”
Alvin had a phone call from Daniela. “Hello, Daniela.”
“Where the hell are you?” Danny girl hissed.
“I managed to escape. The cops almost caught me.”
“What? Did they recognize you?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Did you get the evidence?”
“No. Dad got his hands on it. What are we going to do now?”
Carlos arrived at his father’s house. He called Marga and apologized for cutting short their bonding time. Marga said she understood and she was glad that they had spent some time together. After the call, Carlos came out of his car and found his mother sitting outside. He asked why she was crying and suggested that they talk about it inside. Kulas stormed out. “Carlos, don’t you dare let that woman inside my house.”
“Dad, what’s the problem?” Carlos asked, confused.
“Don’t give in to that woman’s drama. She lied to all of us.”
Carlos turned to his mother. “What is he talking about?”
“She was never sick!” Kulas barked. “She føøled us into believing she really had cancer so that she could be part of our lives again.”
Carlos was appalled. “Is that true? I thought you changed.”
Myrna started crying again. “That was the only way I could be with you again.”
“By lying to us? Where’s the money we gave you, huh?”
Gino pleaded for him to stop but Carlos ignored him and lamented over how Myrna had just used them for money when she had claimed that she really wanted to be with them. Myrna said she had wanted to be with them and she had needed the money to pay off her debts. Carlos however didn’t believe her. Kulas threatened to drag her out if she didn’t leave on her own and Gino pleaded with Mryna to leave before things got worse.
Jessa sneaked into her place with the bag of money and found Myrna inside. She asked what she was doing there and Myrna sobbed, telling her that she couldn’t be with her sons anymore because Kulas had kicked her out after learning that she had never been sick with cancer. Jessa told her that they should have left when they had the chance. “What do I do now, Jessa?” Mryna cried. “I have nowhere else to go.”
“Don’t be silly, “Jessa said. “You think I’d abandon you? I’ll take care of you. We’ll go somewhere really far from here, and we’ll never come back here.”
Myrna then noticed the bag Jessa had placed on the table earlier. “What’s that? Jessa, you went through with it? Why?”
“You know we need the cash,” Jessa argued.
“We have to give it back. If we keep this, they would come after us.”
“No, you can’t.”
“We’ll return this money whether you like it or not.”
Just then, they heard the sound of police sirens. The entire place was surrounded. Myrna forced Jessa to leave so she could handle the situation. A second later, some officers came in and arrested her. Romina and Robert stood outside. Mina was surprised to see Mryna subdued by the cops. “What does this mean?” Mina asked. “You’re the one behind all this?”
“Yes, Romina.”
Robert and Mina exchanged looks of surprise as Myrna was ushered into a police car and driven away. Neil paid a visit to Gino and asked why he hadn’t been picking his calls. Gino apologized and Neil asked whether there was something wrong. Gino eventually told him about his mother føøling them with having cancer. “Why did she have to lie to us?” Gino wailed. “We would have understood if she had just talked to us.”
“Maybe she was just afraid that you wouldn’t accept and forgive her.”
“Still, what she did was wrong.”
“I’m not saying it wasn’t. But weren’t you happy when she came back? She made it up to you guys. Are you going to throw it all away just because of one mistake?”
Kulas eavesdropped on them as Neil asked for the CD containing the audition video he had come for. A moment later, Kulas searched the house and eventually found a disc hidden under the bed. Jude was at the station when his mother was brought in and taken away. He asked what the matter was and Romina told him that Mryna had the evidence she had been looking for and she had used it to extort money from them.
Back at the house, Kulas angrily confronted Gino for keeping the CD when he had been looking for it for so long. Gino took the CD from him and told him that it was his audition video. Daniela arrived home and had several flashbacks of her encounters with Romina. She then recalled the incidents at the bachelorette party years ago. Danny girl was agitated and on the brink of tears. She threw some plates onto the floor, breathing heavily.
At the police station, an officer played the CD the Mondragons had retrieved. Mina and Robert both looked agitated. “That’s him,” Mina wailed. “That’s the man who räpëd me. We need to find out who he is.” Both Robert and Mina asked for the officer to freeze the video and zoom in on the suspect. The officer however said it would be difficult to see the man’s face due to the low quality of the video.
“I’m sure you can do something about it, Mina pleaded. “Please, I’m begging you. We have to know who that man is. You have to find a way to identify him. He needs to pay for what he did to me.”
Carlos arrived home and hugged his wife, still in tears. Daniela asked what had happened and he told her about his mother’s lie. Carlos then had a phone call and Daniela picked up. She then told Carlos that Jude was the one who had called, saying that their mother was at the police station. Back at the station, Robert suggested that they go home but Romina was determined to have a talk with Myrna first. She told Robert that her case would have been solved a long time ago had the evidence ended up in the right hand.
Marga came into her mother’s room and asked why she hadn’t been able to meet up with her and her father earlier. Daniela said it was nothing. She apologized for not being able to join them. “It’s okay,” Marga said. “There’s always a next time. Where’s daddy?”
“He’s not here. Your daddy went to jail to visit your grandmother.”
“In jail?” Marga asked, confused.
“Your grandmother was arrested,”. Daniela explained.
“But why?”
“I don’t know yet, but I’ll find out.”
An officer interrogated and asked Myrna where she had gotten the CD. Myrna refused to talk and asked for a lawyer since it was her right. Robert and Romina came in and asked the officers to give them some privacy so they could have a talk with Mryna before she was taken back to her cell. “You don’t have to be in jail,” Mina began. “I can redraw the charges.”
Myrna was taken by surprise.”Why would you do that? I kept the evidence you had been looking for, and I extorted money from you.”
“Yes, you took our money, but I know you’re not the one who hid the video. There’s only one person I suspect who could have hidden the video. Was it Mr. Kulas?”
Carlos and his family arrived just then as Robert was assuring Myrna not to be afraid, adding that he would make sure nothing happened to her as long as she told the truth. “I just need you to tell me who gave you the CD,” Robert said. “Where did the CD come from?”
“CD?” Carlos asked. “What CD is that?”
“Why don’t you ask your dad about it?” Mina said angrily. She glared at Kulas and started pounding him with her bag. “You bästärd! You knew what happened to me, and yet you made me look like a bad person to everyone!”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Kulas claimed.
“You liar! You’re the only one who could do this to me.”
Carlos was still confused. He asked what they were talking about and Robert told him that someone had kept a CD containing the CCTV footage of when Romina was kidñäpped. “That was the missing evidence and Jude knows about it,” Mina added.
“Romina’s telling the truth,” Jude admitted.
“So what?” Kulas grumbled. “Why am I the one you’re accusing? It’s been years since I retired.”
“Because I know you never wanted me to be with Carlos back then,” Mina said. “I accepted that but why did you have to hide the truth? Why did you pretend you didn’t know anything? Unless you’re involved in my case.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about. You’re making things up.”
“Why did you hide the evidence?! Obviously, it was a cover-up. Was it you? Were you the one who räpëd me?”
“What? Romina, I would never do that to you.”
“But that’s the only reason we can think of,” Robert cut in. “Why you kept the evidence.”
“That’s too much, Romina” Carlos complained. “My dad would never do that.”
“There’s only one way to find out if he’s telling the truth.” Mina turned to Myrna and asked where she had gotten the CD. Myrna said she had hidden the CD herself and Kulas didn’t have any hand in it.
Mina however didn’t believe her. “Then you leave me with no choice. I’ll sue you, Mr. Kulas. I’ll file a räpë case against you.”
Gino arrived home and found the place locked up. A neighbor told him that his father had gone to the police station to see his mother.
Back at the station, Jude told Carlos that Romina couldn’t press charges against their father unless she had solid evidence. He added that the evidence Romina had retrieved could actually be from their father. Gino arrived and asked what had happened to their mother.
“She was arrested,” Carlos revealed.
“Why? What was her crime?”
“Extortion. She tried to extort money from Romina in exchange for the evidence she found.”
“Are you sure? Why would she do that?”
“Because she’s a trickster who’s greedy for money,” Jude hissed. “If she can do that to us, then she can do same to Romina.”
Gino argued that their mother had just recently met Romina and his brothers told him about the CD containing the evidence Myrna had hidden. Gino had a flashback of his earlier encounter with their father about his audition CD.
“But that CD belongs to dad,” Gino said.
Carlos was surprised. “It’s dad’s?”
Gino then reminded Jude about the CD their father had been looking for desperately some time ago, and Carlos left angrily while Jude was called into the chief’s office. A second later, Robert and Romina found Gino alone and he pleaded with them to drop the case against his mother since she was innocent. Mina asked for his help and Gino agreed to cooperate with her on the condition that his mother is released. Kulas confronted Myrna in jail and blamed her for the situation they were in.
“If you hadn’t taken the CD, they wouldn’t have accused me. You got greedy,” Kulas ranted on.
Myrna glared at him. “This is what I get after covering up for you?”
“Tell me, why did you do that?”
“I did that for our sons. I didn’t want them to get hurt. If they find out about what you did to Romina…”
“I didn’t do anything to Romina.”
“Prove it then, and put an end to all of this. I only ask for one thing – take care of our sons. It’s enough that only one of us is in here.”
Carlos confronted his father outside the station and asked whether the CD had come from him. Kulas tried to dodge the question and Carlos got angry. “Tell me the truth, dad!”
“Fine! That video came from me. What do you wanna happen now? You wanna arrest me, huh? Want me in jail.” Kulas started walking back into the station.
Carlos stopped him and asked whether he was involved with what happened to Romina. Kulas said it wasn’t so and Carlos asked how he had known about it then. Kulas told him that he had tried talking to him and Romina when he had found out about the video but he had been with Daniela back then. Daniela was inside the police station, listening in on their conversation. “I knew that if you found out Romina was räpëd, you would have run back to her,” Kulas said. “I didn’t want that to happen. You’re better off with Daniela. Let’s forget about all this.”
Cassie asked Esther whether there was any update concerning her parents. Esther called Mina and learnt that she had filed a case against Kulas. Outside the station, Carlos told his father that it was his life and he could make his own decisions. Kulas argued that he knew what was best for him. “You ruined Romina’s life,”
Carlos pointed out as Danny girl kept on listening secretly. “Someone who had never done anything wrong to you. It’s like my conscience is eating me alive because of the guilt I feel now. I judged Romina. We broke up because of you.”
An officer came out just then with his partner. “Nicolas Bartolome, you are under arrest for the obstruction of justice, and for the räpë of Mrs. Mondragon.” Robert and Romina arrived home and Cassie welcomed them warmly. Robert decided to take a rest and eat later while Mina stayed behind and told Cassie that someone was in jail paying for the crime.
“Is that Mr. Kulas?” Cassie asked. “I overheard you talking to nanny Esther. You had him arrested? But why? Is he…”
“Cassie, we aren’t sure yet. But he’s in jail for hiding evidence.”
Daniela went to see Kulas in jail. Kulas said it was Romina’s fault he was there since she had accused him of räpë. Daniela told him that he deserved it, adding that she had heard his conversation with Carlos earlier. “Why did you get involved?” Danny girl asked. “Even if Carlos found out that Romina was räpëd, he would still have chosen me instead.”
“I know my son well, and I can tell you that you’re wrong. He even asked her to marry him. Do you think Carlos would have left her if he had known?”
“Carlos was mine first.”
“But he løvëd Romina more, Daniela. If you don’t want Carlos to go back to Romina, then help me get out of here.”
Myrna had been released and she couldn’t understand why Romina had dropped the charges against her. Gino told her that he had told Mina that the CD had come from his father. He asked her why she had taken the blame for something she hadn’t done and Mryna said she had done it to save Kulas to make it up to them for her mistakes. She asked for forgiveness and Gino hugged her.
Hector scolded Alvin for always attaçking without thinking of a plan. “Did you get the evidence? No, right? What if you were caught by CCTV cameras?”
“Relax, Hector. I won’t end up in jail.”
Hector gave him a look. “Tell me, are you hiding something?”
“I’m not hiding anything.”
“Tell me the truth,” Hector threatened. “Or else I’ll make that wound worse.”
“Ok, fine. Don’t get mad at me.”
“Well, you were pissing me off! I even asked you nicely. What’s the secret, then?!”
Robert and Romina were in bed. Robert suggested that they leave for Australia so that the police could handle everything since she was having a hard time. Mina told him that she couldn’t give up now that she was so close to solving her case and getting the answers. Robert then assured her that he would always be there for her no matter the outcome of the case.
“From now on, I’m taking over,” Hector declared back at the gambling den.
“What should I do?” Alvin asked.
“You have to gain Cassie’s trust. We’ll k!ll everyone who tries to get in the way. You got that?”
At Maxwell, Kristoff found Cassie spacing out. He joined her and asked whether something was wrong. Cassie told him that Kulas, Marga’s grandfather was a suspect in her mother’s case. Marga was walking by when she heard her. She confronted Cassie and asked her about what she had just said.
In Robert’s office, an officer told Robert that someone else could have known about the deal they had with the anonymous caller concerning the CD since they had been followed that night. Robert said they had been careful not to talk about it openly and the officer told him to let him know as soon as he remembered anything else.
“Have you found the person who had been following us?” Robert asked.
“No, but we’re still searching the surrounding area.”
“But why?”
“We shot the person in the leg that night and we also found blood at the scene. We’re still investigating whether it’s linked to Kulas and Mryna Bartolome.”
Back at Maxwell, Cassie told Marga that Kulas was in jail because of her mother’s case. Marga took offense at that. “Are you calling my grandpa a criminal?”
“That’s not what I’m saying,” Cassie said.
“But that’s what you’re implying.”
“Marga, it’s not like that,” Kristoff cut in.
Alvin came up and asked Cassie whether Marga was bullying her again. Marga gave him a look. “How dare you.”
“No, Mr. Vin,” Cassie replied. “We were just talking. It’s just a misunderstanding.”
“It looked like you were fighting.” Alvin’s wound had started bleeding and the stain could be seen on his trousers. He started leaving with Cassie.
Kristoff noticed that Alvin was limping. “Wait, Mr. Vin. Are you okay?”
Alvin turned. “I’m okay,” he said. Cassie glanced at Alvin’s leg, a confused look on her face.
