After having a waitress escort Shawn to use the restroom, Pinky strives to convince Jenny to go back to the hospital for treatment, going on about how she still considers her as family in spite of everything she had done to her.
When Jenny refuses to believe that she’s being honest, Pinky admits that she had hated her and wished her ill-fate but all the hatred she harbored disappeared when she learnt of her cancer: now, she only wants to be her friend to help her get better.
Still, Jenny refuses to believe Pinky even as she explains the reason why she had been with Jack at the hospital to pacify Shannon. Jenny is reluctant to go to the hospital because she doesn’t want people to point fingers and make mockery of her. Eventually, Pinky manages to convince her not to give up: she would take over Venus and if Jenny is capable, she should come and take it all back from her.
Jenny agrees to the deal but stops Pinky from calling Jack because she doesn’t want him to see her in her current condition. Pinky decides to take Jenny and her son home. Jenny tells Shawn that he would be staying at Pinky’s house for some time because she has things to do: if things go well, she’ll find time to come and see him. Ethan walks in on the scene with Pauline, who’s delighted to see Shawn.
He asks what Jenny is doing there and Pinky says she had agreed to take care of her son while she goes on a trip. Still, Ethan lashes out at Jenny on account of her backstabbing character. She curses her, calling her an evil woman and stating that God will punish her and karma will get her soon. Shannon pounces on Jenny and begins roughing her up and Jack holds her off long enough for Jenny to get away. When Jack tries to call Miss Gao, Shannon bites him, dropping his phone and work ID card. Shannon’s bag also falls, spilling out it’s contents.
