At the party, Leo surprises Amelia and Araceli with the news of Arnold’s acceptance into the NIA and the Hernandezes express their disapproval. When Anton comes over, Amelia asks of Celine. Anton can only sigh. In the meantime, Celine slips into the room where the cellphone is ringing from. She’s unable to get a hold of the phone because it’s locked in a box.
Anton comes looking for Celine and calling out her name and Celine quickly puts everything back in place and slips right out of the room. She soon runs into Anton and gives a flimsy excuse to cover up what she’s been up to. A moment later, they join the other guests to sing a happy birthday song for Araceli.
Eventually, Araceli gives a blasted speech about her family and thanks everyone for coming. Celine looks on silently with an indifferent look on her face. Clarissa comes over to sympathize with her for her loss and asks her to give her a call should she need someone to talk to.Celine notices papa Nick standing nearby and she resolves to get some food for him much to the chagrin of her irritating mother.
Amelia questions Leo about his intention of hiring Emman’s father as his driver, and she tells him that he would be the one to deal with the consequences of his actions. When Leo asks if there’s something else he should know, Amelia informs him of Clarissa’s suspicions of him cheating on her. Caloy makes known his intention of pursuing Sam to Emman and looks forward to help her move on.
In her room, Sam stares at a photo portrait of her departed mother and reflects on a memory where said mother had struggled to convince her runaway father Renzo to acknowledge and be there for Sam like he does to his other children. Eventually, Renzo had hanged up on Mrs. Agoncillo. Presently, Sam notes how her mother had been hopelessly waiting for her father’s return until her very last breath.
She vows not to end up like her – she would do everything in her power to make sure that Emman chooses her alone. The next morning in his room, Emman stares at some photos of Robbie and reflects on his last birthday and how he had ended up. Back at the party, Anton garners everyone’s attention by giving a short speech of his own and making a toast to his mother.
He then introduces Celine as the only woman in his misëräble life and proceeds to give another speech of how strong and brave she is. It is revealed that Anton had actually seen Celine snooping around his mother’s room. Presently, Anton makes a toast to Celine. Celine indulges Anton and thanks Araceli for treating her and her mother as family.
She then wishes her a happy birthday and proceeds to give an appreciation speech to Anton. Right there and then, Anton rambles some crap about his relationship with Celine and proposes to her a second time. Celine accepts much to the excitement of almost everyone except Amelia and papa Nick. At home, Bernie apologizes to Emman for leaving home when he had been going through so much.
Emman says the most important thing is that they’re now a complete family again. Nick returns home with Caloy as Emman urges Bernie to focus on his studies so he would be able to get a decent job in future. Nick suggests that Emman ask General Chavez for help but he’s reluctant to do so since he had already helped his father already: he doesn’t want them to be branded as a family of beggars.
Anton has a talk with Celine about their marriage plans and Linda has to interfere to encourage her daughter not to prolong it any longer. Celine isn’t up for it yet so Anton assures her that they would do it whenever she’s ready. The Salvador family have a little chichat over some drinks and snacks about the løvé lives of Caloy and Emman.
Back at the Hernandezes, Amelia gets upset upon learning of how Celine had been snooping around her mother’s room earlier. She gives Anton an earful and expresses her disgust over how he had proposed to her a second time on their mother’s birthday. Anton insists on marrying Celine at all costs and notes that they have to find a way to get rid of all her suspicions. Amelia is evidently exasperated.
Celine goes to see Emman at home to tell him of her discovery: Araceli being one of the contacts of Dr. Gomez. She shows him a shot she had taken of a photo she had found in the room. It features Araceli with Dr. Gomez and some others during a convention last year. Celine then asks if they can use it as evidence against the Hernandezes to prove that they’re involved in what had happened to their son.
While Amelia and Araceli check up on Lester in his room, Emman and Celine deliberate on how to expose Araceli as the doctor Emman had shøt at Saint John’s Hospital. Anton has a talk over the phone with Dante about how his mother is being investigated. When the rotten agent states that Sam hasn’t mentioned anything about Araceli being investigated, Anton points out that Sam won’t tell him anything because she’s loyal to Emman.
He vows to do everything in his power to win back Celine’s trust. Back at the Salvadors’, Celine gives Emman the silent treatment when he questions her about her reason for agreeing to marry Anton. Emman cautions her and states that he still still løvës her. When Emman makes known his intention of wanting them to get back together, Celine only apologizes and decides to leave.
The next morning during breakfast, the Salvadors talk about their suspicions of Araceli’s involvement with the organ trafficking syndicate. Nick thinks Anton doesn’t know of his family’s criminal activities but Caloy is certain he’s involved and just putting on a front. He suggests that they confront him but Nick objects to the idea and they all agree to keep the matter a secret from Bernie lest he start acting out again.
Emman goes to see Sam at the NIA and has a talk with her about the frustrating cycle of how justice always keeps eluding them.Sam believes that their efforts will pay off eventually as long as they don’t give up. Emman throws a fit as he’s getting quite tired of all the waiting. He comes to himself and apologizes for taking out his frustrations on her.
He then goes on about how she keeps helping him at the detriment of her own life. Sam gets emotional as she notes that she would do everything for him even at the cost of her life because of her løvé for him. She hopes that he would eventually learn to løvé her again. Sam then parts ways with Emman to go and have a talk with Araceli. During the drive, she emotionally reflect on some romantic moments with Emman.
