“Just admit it, Marga. You’re a fading star. Number two, so loser the truth is, we’ve just been putting up with you out of pity. Because that’s our advocacy. To help poor people like you”
Carlos and Kulas sat by the poolside. Carlos mentioned that his father seemed silent than usual, asking if there was anything wrong. Kulas brushed off the question and asked about how he was being treated at the mansion. Carlos said everyone was nice to him and they all wanted him to focus on his recovery.
“Even Mr. Robert’s been saying the same thing,” Carlos added.
“If everything’s okay, then why do you sound bothered?” Kulas asked.
“They’re treating me well, dad. But sometimes I just feel like a useless father and husband because I can’t do anything for my family when they need me the most.”
Kulas told him not to let his pride control him, adding that it wouldn’t help him if he kept thinking about it. “You guys are a family. You need help now. Family helps each other. It’s not your fault you got injured. If your wife hadn’t burned down our house, you wouldn’t be like that.”
“Come on dad. Let’s not talk about what Daniela did. What’s done is done. There’s no point in blaming her. No matter what happens, we’ll always be family. Nothing should tear us apart.”
At Maxwell, Kristoff told Cassie that he would teach sports and music to the kids while she taught them on academics. He asked if LJ would be joining them.
“Of course,” Cassie replied. “Why?”
“After what she did to you and Marga, how can you still trust her?”
“LJ regrets what she did,” Cassie told him. “And also, I felt her sincerity when she apologized. Are you saying people shouldn’t be forgiven for making mistakes?”
“But… it was extreme, Cassie,” Kristoff reasoned. “She didn’t just vandalize the school wall, but she also posted that meme about Marga being poor. I feel really sorry for Marga, especially because ‘Power-Pout Girls’ are very particular about status.”
Cassie seemed confused. “‘Power-Pout Girls?'”
“Yeah. Maureen, Nica, Nadya… they’re always pouting if you look at them closely. Look, just like this.” Kristoff made a funny face.
Cassie laughed and smacked him playfully. “You’re so silly. But seriously, LJ didn’t spread that meme about Marga.”
“That’s what she says,” Kristoff commented.
“And that’s what I believe,” Cassie countered.
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re a too trusting person?”
“And what’s wrong with that?” Cassie asked, smiling.
Marga joined the Mean Squad and Nadya asked if she had thought about what they were going to do. Marga said they should tutor the intellectually challenged at lower levels. Maureen asked if it would be enough to beat Cassie and they all gave her a look.
“Do you have any idea what Cassie would be doing?” Nica asked.
“I have no idea, and I don’t care,” Marga replied.
“But we can’t give her a chance,” Nadya jumped in. “Do you think we should do something?”
Marga took offense. “Excuse me, do you think I can’t win on my own merits?” She turned to Nica. “And can you please stop coming up with useless plans? Remember how I lost the Eco fashion show?”
At Camila, Mina was having a discussion with the marketing team when Bonita came to call her. A guy came in with a package and Neil received it. He then had a phone call and went to answer it. While Neil talked on the phone, Daniela got up from her seat and walked over to another desk.
Daniela deliberately shoved a document into the dustbin and then suggested to Neil and the others that they discuss the details of their project over lunch. Bernard had come to see Robert in his office.
Robert gave him Daniela’s proposal so he could study it and find out the legal liabilities they would have. Bernard asked if he still planned to use it and Robert said he was just taking a look at it.
“How’s she getting along with Romina?” Bernard asked.
“I’ve talked to Daniela,” Robert replied. “She said she’d apologize to Romina but then…you know my daughter. She and Romina are both alphas so…it is only natural that they won’t get along.”
“So what’s your plan?” Bernard asked.
“I really want Daniela to have a bigger place in this company, just like Romina.”
“But do you even think that’s even possible?” Bernard asked. “You said it yourself…they have always had misunderstandings between them.”
Robert sighed. “So far, I am happy with the performance of Daniela in the company. I hope that things at home would start to run smoothly too. You know I won’t give up until those two finally get along.”
“Hopefully.”
Daniela was at the marketing room. She asked a cleaner to dispose of the trash in all the dustbins in the office. The cleaner went around the office, taking out the trash. Daniela had put the document Neil had received a while a go into the dustbin.
The cleaner went to Neil’s desk and dumped the document into the trashcan he was carrying. Pleased with herself, Daniela smiled and walked away. Later that evening, Daniela went over to Savannah’s place and narrated to her the stunt she had pulled in the office.
“And you did nothing?” Savannah asked. Daniela smiled to herself. “Danny girl, you’re so bad.”
“It’s Romina’s brother’s fault,” Daniela said to her. “It’s not part of my job to babysit him. He’s an adult, and that’s his responsibility. If they fight over it, then good for me. I’ll just watch and cheer them on.”
“How is work so far?” Savannah asked.
“I’m a perfect little employee now,” Daniela replied. “I follow all of Romina’s orders to the letter.”
“Ah..ok. You’re clearly up to something. What is it?”
“Well, for now I’ll allow Romina to work happily in the company, while I make sure that her personal life will burst into flames until she loses everything.”
Kulas and Gino carried their belongings to the roadside. Jude came up and apologized for being late, saying that he had to wait for the jeepney they had rented since it had ran out of gass. Gino complained about why they were moving at night and Kulas told him to live in the streets and not come back to the house if he didn’t want to move. Gino told him he had only been kidding.
“Are you this way because you haven’t found the woman who was looking for you last night?” Gino asked.
“Ah… daddy’s getting grumpy,” Jude joked. Kulas shut them up and made them carry the things. He seemed preoccupied with his thoughts.
Cassie asked Marga whether she wanted to come with her and Robert to buy the supplies they would need for the project tomorrow. Marga declined the offer, saying that her name would be on top of the leaderboard after the project was completed. Suddenly, Cassie’s phone beeped and she grabbed for it to check it out.
Marga went over to her and stretched out her neck to see what she was doing. “I thought your facegram account was already deactivated,” she said. “Who are you talking to?”
“Huh? No one.”
“Oh…my…gosh,” Marga mused, smiling. “Cassie has a little secret. So who is it? Was it a boy?”
Cassie looked horrified. “No,” she said. “That was just the people we met at the Open Mic Night. They’re inviting me to their street art.”
“So you have a secret account,” Marga teased.
“Marga, please don’t tell my mom about this,” Cassie pleaded. “It’s not like am doing anything wrong.”
Marga was still smiling, amused. “Cassie, do you really think I care? I don’t. Do what you want with your life. I have my own life to live.” Marga got into her bed, still smiling. “So it was really a boy,” she teased again.
“No, Marga.”
“Okay, fine. Goodnight.”
The next morning, while Naana Esther helped Cassie to carry the supplies into the van, Kristoff, Fatima and LJ arrived. Kristoff asked if she needed any help. Cassie said there were still some stuff inside and Kristoff went to get them. Fatima handed her the snacks and juice they would snack on later and Cassie thanked her.
“LJ, how are you?” Cassie asked, smiling.
“Am good,” LJ replied, smiling back. “But my parents are still keeping an eye on me. Thanks for helping to ask permission from our teacher to be here with you. And thanks for still being friends with me.”
“Oh, of course. Everybody deserves a second chance.”
LJ’s countenance fell. “Does Marga… live here too?”
“She isn’t here. She left early because today is also the start of their advocacy.”
“Cassie, what are they going to do?” Fatima asked.
“I’m not sure,” Cassie replied. “All I know is that they will help Maxwell.”
At Maxwell, Marga approached a student and asked if she was done with her workbook. The girl said she didn’t even know why she was there.
“Because you’re failing,” Marga said.
“So what?” the girl shot back. “My family owns the biggest constitution company in the country.”
“So that’s it. Just because you’re rich, you’re not going to do anything with your life?”
“Duh, yeah.” The girl rolled her eyes.
Marga looked pissed off. She turned to Nadya who stood by the doorway, asking for her help. Nadya said it looked like she didn’t really need her help. Marga was frustrated. The teacher came in and asked how her project was going, saying that she was surprised with the advocacy she had chosen.
“Why ma’am? Am only doing this for my co-students.”
“Yes, and it’s a noble thought,” the teacher said. “But for this advocacy campaign, we expected you to go outside the campus to work and help outside your comfort zone. This way, you’ll meet different people of your age. Am sure they’ll be happy to learn from you. And I want you to learn from them as well, okay?”
Marga nodded. “Okay, ma’am.”
After the teacher left, Marga checked her facegram account, particularly Cassie’s status. She saw that Cassie had posted a photo of the day she had accompanied her to Novatas to teach the kids there. An idea sprang into her mind. She called Nadya over. “Call Maureen and Nica. Change of plans. We have a new advocacy.”
“These kids left me to organize all of this? And there’s still trash?” Kulas picked up the trash to dispose of it outside. He found Myrna standing outside. “You really don’t know when to quit,” he said. “Go. Leave.”
“Kulas,” Myrna pleaded. “I just want to see my sons.”
“Go away.”
Myrna rushed over to him. “Kulas, am begging you,” she said. She called out her children’s name.
“Myrna, they’re not here,” Kulas told her. “Leave now if you don’t want me to drag you out of here.”
“I just want to be with my sons,” Myrna pleaded. “All of you. I want to be with all of you.”
“Are you serious?” Kulas yelled in annoyance. “You had plenty of chances. When they were crying and looking for their mother, they would always ask where you went. You should have been there for them.
“When they were sick, I didn’t know what to do. You should have been there when I was trying to figure out how to make a living. You had so many chances…but you’re too late. We don’t need you anymore. Don’t ever come back here!”
Kulas turned to go back inside and Myrna pleaded with him to hear her out. “I am sick,” she cried. “There’s no one else I can turn to. You and our children are the only family I have.” She took Kulas’ hand. “Please, am begging you.”
Marga and the Mean Squad walked the streets of Novatas.
“What the hell are we doing here, Marga?” Nadya complained. “I only agreed to be your partner because I thought you wouldn’t do something like this. This place is disgusting. You see?”
“I know,” Nica added, using her hand to fan away smoke from her face. “It stinks. Why are we even here? You know what? Am going home. Maureen and I aren’t your partners so we don’t have to be here.”
“She’s right,” Maureen added.
“This is my advocacy,” Marga pointed out. “And we’re a squad, right? That’s why we’re together.”
“Why did you have to drag us into this?” Nica asked.
“You must be kidding,” Nadya added.
“And if this is a joke, it’s not funny,” Nica went on. “I want to go home. We might end up getting kidnapped.”
“That’s what’s called advocacy,” Marga said. “We have to help those in need.”
“What they need is a bath,” Nadya said. Cassie and her group were walking down the other direction. “Not only the people, even the whole place needs to be disinfected.”
Cassie was shocked to see her there. “Marga? What are you doing here?” She smiled at her.
Naana Esther joined them and Cassie asked if this was her advocacy too. Marga said she had changed her mind at the last minute.
“The last time I came here, I noticed that the kids needed to have fun. And they can do that through dancing, so I decided to teach them. You don’t have a problem with us being here, right?”
“I have a bad feeling, Cassie,” LJ whispered, covering her mouth with her hand. “Look at her squad.”
“What did you say, ‘freaker’?” Marga demanded.
“I got this,” Cassie whispered back to LJ. She turned to face Marga and her squad. “That won’t be a problem,” she said with her usual smiling face. “Am glad you brought your friends here.”
“So you’re okay with us being here?” Marga asked. “You might think am stealing your limelight. I don’t want this to cause us any misunderstanding.”
“Don’t worry about it, Marga. The more people who help, the better.”
“Okay. So… maybe you can like…go now?”
“What? Why would we leave, Marga? We can help them at the same time.”
Marga sighed. “Fine. If that’s what you want.” She took out her phone and started a live feed, explaining to ‘Baby Dragons’ (her followers on social media) that she constantly comes to Novatas whenever she had free time to help the kids out. She left with her squad.
“‘Baby Dragons’?” Fatima said. “Maybe ‘Frog-ons. She’s the mother of those frogs.” Fatima mocked. “Baby…”
Cassie looked horrified. She whispered to Fatima to keep quiet before Marga heard her. Kristoff and LJ were smiling in amusement.
Marga and the Mean Squad had set up a canopy nearby while Cassie taught a group of kids across the other side of the road. Marga tried teaching the kids some dance moves. Nadya told her that it was hopeless because she had been teaching them for a while now and they still couldn’t get it.
“Why don’t we just stop this?” Nadya asked.
“No. We can’t stop until we get a good outcome,” Marga told her. “So smile for the camera.” Nadya didn’t smile though and Marga told Maureen who was recording, to turn off the ‘facegram live’. Two of the kids left Marga’s place and went to and went to Cassie’s.
“Teacher Cassie, can we please stay here?” one of them asked.
“Why? What happened? Of course.” Cassie smiled at them and gave them each a book to draw in. She stared at Marga who seemed frustrated with the performance of the kids she was teaching.
The Mean Squad sat at a table. Nadya wondered out loud why Marga had brought them there.
“She wants to help the kids. Isn’t that what this project is all about?” Maureen asked.
“My gosh, Maureen, there are many ways to grow. We could auction bags or give money to charities, but no. She chose to let us suffer in this place.” Cassie was approaching when she heard them talking. She stood behind the wall, listening to their conversation.
“Maybe Marga really is poor now,” Nica said. “That’s why she chose this project.”
“And she dragged us into her problems. I knew it. We were right to post her pictures.” A flashback was shown, revealing Nadya as the one who had posted and spread the ‘Marga Poor Girl’ photos with the help of Nica and Maureen.
“Cancer? What kind of cancer?” Kulas had allowed Myrna in and even served her a glass of water.
“Um… breast cancer.”
“Since when?” Kulas asked.
“I only found out last week,” Myrna explained. “I guess that’s how it works. Once you know you’re about to die, then you will realize what’s really important. For me it’s you and the kids.
“But please don’t think that I only came back to be a burden to you and the kids. Don’t worry, cause I don’t want our sons to find out about my condition. I just want to be with our children, and spend time with them before I pass away.”
At Novatas, Cassie came out of her hiding place. “You know what? You three are free to leave if you’ll keep on talking nonsense. No one’s forcing you to stay here.”
“Who do you think you are to tell us what to do here?” Nadya demanded. “We’re here to help Marga, not you.”
“Really? You’re here to help Marga? Oh…so you really think you’re helping her by posting her pictures?”
At the other side of the street, Marga took a photo of the kids before dismissing them. She turned on the ‘facegram live’ and started recording. “I came here thinking these kids were going to learn from me, but the truth is, they’re the ones who taught me important life lessons…”
“We don’t know what you’re talking about,” Nica said.
“But that’s what we were just discus…” Maureen began and Nica nudged her, signalling to her to be quiet.
“And you think Marga will believe you?” Nadya asked.
“Why don’t we find out?” Cassie dared. “Lots of people suffered because of what you did. Not just Marga, but LJ too. If you guys were Marga’s real friends, you wouldn’t have done that to her.” Nadya glanced at Nica and Maureen. The Mean Squad looked worried now.
At the other side of the road, Marga finished recording the live feed. “For Maxwell Prime. You’re doing this for Maxwell Prime,” she said to herself reassuringly. Cassie stormed over to her, and the Mean Squad followed.
“Marga, can we talk?” Cassie asked.
“Marga, are you done? Come on, let’s go,” Nadya urged.
“Are they really your friends?” Cassie asked. “Cause first of all, they didn’t help you teach the kids. Second…”
“Will you please just shut up?” Nadya interrupted, irritated.
“What’s going on?” Marga asked, confused.
“Marga, your friends aren’t who you think they are,” Cassie went on.
“She’s lying,” Nadya interrupted again.
“Come on, will you just tell me what’s really going on here?” Marga asked, her arms folded in impatience. She glanced at Nadya.
“Marga, they keep saying things behind your back,” Cassie continued. “They’re saying a lot of negative things against you. And I also heard them talking. They’re the ones who leaked your pictures.”
Marga was shocked to the bone. “Nadya? Maureen. Nica.” She turned to glance at them one by one.
“Marga, am telling the truth,” Cassie said. “Am not doing this to ruin your friendship. Am trying to save you from them. Remember that day your pictures went viral? They completely ignored you. Is that what real friends do? Right Nadya?”
Marga turned to face Nadya. “Nadya, answer me,” she threatened. “Fine wait for me to go after you on facegram. It’s obvious you didn’t help me out there, so am sure…”
“How pathetic, Marga,” Nadya said to her. “Seriously. Going against us too. So what if we posted your pictures? We were just telling the truth. And we just wanted to share the truth with Maxwell.”
Marga was on the brink of tears. “How dare you?” she said.
“Just admit it, Marga. You’re a fading star. Number two, so loser…the truth is, we’ve just been putting up with you out of pity. Because that’s our advocacy. To help poor people like you.”
Marga stormed off and Cassie gave Nadya a look before going after her.
“Marga? Are you okay?”
“I hate them!” Marga yelled. She turned to face Cassie. “Are you happy now?”
“You think seeing you suffer actually makes me happy?” Cassie cried. “I didn’t do that to destroy your friendship. I only want you to know that they are not real friends. Why did you even want to be friends with them, Marga?”
“I did not choose them to be my friends. And that’s not even the issue,” Marga replied. “Am mad at them because they ruined my reputation at school. I did everything so all the teachers and students will respect me, cause when you’re on top, you feel invincible; you’re free to do everything you want but you wouldn’t understand…because you don’t care what other people think of you, but I do.”
“Marga, it’s not possible to please everyone,” Cassie said to her. “You can’t even please your own friends. What’s important is how you see yourself. If you’re doing the right thing, and if you treat people with respect, Marga that’s all that matters.”
“Stop lecturing me, teacher Cassie,” Marga said, wiping tears away. “Anyway, I know that’s not true. With fame comes power. And with power, you could do everything.”
Marga ran off and Cassie pleaded that she go back with her since Nanny Esther and Jepoy might be looking for them. Marga told her that she wouldn’t be going back there as long as Nadya and her friends were there.
“Maybe they aren’t there anymore,” Cassie reasoned.
“Can you leave me alone?” Marga said, plugging in her earpiece. “I didn’t ask you to come with me.”
“Marga, we’re already going far. We might get lost…” Cassie hurried to catch up with her.
“Leave me.” Marga quickened her pace.
“Marga, I won’t do that.”
“Whatever, Cassie.” Marga stood on the roadside. She had plugged in the other earpiece, deaf and dead to all other sounds around her.
“Marga!” Cassie yelled.
A bus was speeding her way, blowing it’s horn. Marga was busy with her phone. She only noticed the bus when it had almost reached her. Adrenaline kicking in, Cassie dashed over to Marga and pushed her out of the way of the bus. They both fell and onlookers called out for help while Cassie helped Marga up, asking if she was alright.
“What were you doing in the middle of the road?” the driver came up and asked. “Are you hurt? There’s a clinic nearby.”
“No, we’re fine,” Marga replied.
“Yes,” Cassie panted. “We’re sorry for the trouble.”
“Be careful next time,” the driver advised. “Good thing I was able to hit the brakes. And you’re lucky your friend was here to save you. Be careful.” The driver left.
Cassie noticed the wounds on Marga’s knee. She told her to come along with her so they could treat it but Marga insisted that she was fine.
“Why did you save me?” Marga asked.
“Marga, why are you even asking me that? We are family. You’re my niece.”
“Please, Cassie. I know you didn’t do that out of the goodness of your heart. I know you pretty well, Cassie. You and I are just the same. We both want to be the best. We both want to be on top. You’re just doing your little miss perfect act because you know you’ll get something in return.”
“Think whatever you want, Marga,” Cassie shot back at her. “What’s important is that you’re safe.” Naana Esther and Jepoy came running over. Esther asked Marga what had happened to her. Cassie glanced at Marga. “I got lost,” Marga explained. “Good thing Cassie found me. Let’s go home.”
Gino and Jude arrived home to find their father. And mother as well. Gino was glad that his mother had returned but Jude didn’t seem that happy. Gino took Myrna to sit so they could talk and catch up. Jude asked Kulas what their mother was doing there and whether she was going to be living in the house. Kulas told him that it was his house and he had made the decision to let her stay.
“Your mother needs you now,” Kulas said to him.
“What? She misses acting like a mother and that’s why she’s here?”
“That’s enough, Jude. I don’t wanna hear about you complaining about your mother, okay?”
“Does Carlos know about this?” Jude asked.
Kulas shook his head. “Just help your brother clean up and prepare your mother’s bed.
At Camila, one of the marketing team members asked Daniela if she was okay with working on weekends. Daniela said she was fine with it, adding that she worked 7 days a week when her club was still in operation. Mina came in and asked Neil whether the documents from the consultation firm had arrived.
“Yes, Romina. I received them yesterday,” Neil said.
“Can I have it? We need to complete it so we don’t get delayed because I have to submit it by Monday.”
“I’ll get if from my file.” Neil went over to his desk. Meanwhile, Danny girl was smiling to herself now.
In Robert’s office, Robert told Bernard that he had to fulfill his duty of spending more time with his family. “You know how much time I have given to this company. That’s why I haven’t spent enough time with my children. Maybe that’s why Daniela is like that. Brave. Strong. Maybe she thinks that she’ll have to run the company all on her own. That’s what I don’t want to happen to Cassie.”
“You just did what you had to do when you were raising Daniela,” Bernard said. “If Daniela and Romina work together then good for you. You don’t have to worry about your company.”
Back in the marketing room, Neil was worried now because he still couldn’t find the document. “Have you seen a brown envelope that was delivered by the messenger yesterday?” Neil asked his co-workers.
“Sorry Neil. You know how busy we all were yesterday,” one of them said.
“Are you sure you didn’t see anything?”
“Neil, please do not tell me that you lost the documents,” Mina said. “It’s Saturday and the consultation firm is closed. I need those documents. You know we’ll have to report by Monday.”
“But Romina…”
“What’s going on Neil? You know how important it was. You should have secured it.”
“I’m so sorry, Romina. I’ll look for it. I promise.”
“Neil, your sorry won’t fix this. The company will lose money if we’re delayed. You should have done your job. We’ll be in trouble. Where did you put it?”
“It was just here. I put it here yesterday.” Neil gestured to some other documents on his desk.
“Let’s look for it.” Danny girl was smiling to herself.
A few hours later, everyone had left but Neil and Mina were still searching for the document. Danny girl came in and asked whether they hadn’t found the document yet.
“Not yet,” Mina replied. She turned to Neil. “Neil, just ask for another copy.”
“Good luck with that,” Daniela said. “I don’t think they’ll be willing to do that on a weekend. I’ll just step in for Neil. Am not busy anyway so I’ll solve Neil’s incompetence. Don’t worry. Just relax. Leave it to me.”
“Thank you, Daniela. Excuse me.”
Danny girl made a face at Neil, pouting her mouth. “You poor thing,” she mocked.
At Kulas’ house, Jude was getting ready for work when Myrna entered his room. She took his uniform and offered to iron it for him but Jude told her she didn’t have to. Myrna however took the uniform to iron it and Jude followed her and snatched it from her. “I said you don’t have to. Are you really like that? You always do whatever you want?”
“Jude, watch your tone,” Kulas warned. “You’re being disrespectful. Is that how you talk to your mother?”
Myrna told Kulas that it was fine and Jude left for work. Gino told Myrna to be patient with Jude because he needed some time to accept her.
“I hope so,” Myrna said. “I hope Carlos wouldn’t be like that when he sees me.”
“I doubt so. Carlos is really nice.”
“I really want to see him. I hear he has his own family now. I want to see my granddaughter.”
“Carlos can’t come here. He got injured in an accident,” Kulas explained. “He can’t really walk.”
Myrna was worried. She asked if they could visit him and Kulas refused.
“I’ll see what I can do,” Kulas suddenly said. He went for his phone and made a call. “Carlos, can we visit you today?”
Mina stood on the upper floor of the factory, staring down and watching as the workers worked. Neil joined her and Mina told him that she was just thinking about what could happen to the workers with the decisions she makes. “Just one mistake can affect everyone here.”
“I’m really sorry, Romina,” Neil said to her. “I don’t know what happened. I left the file on the table but I don’t remember what happened to it.”
“Am sorry too,” Mina said. “I’m sorry if I said something wrong. I just got carried away.”
“You don’t have to explain Romina. Am your brother.”
“You understand. Am in a difficult position. They think I got this position because of Robert. I still need to prove myself to them.”
Neil said he also had to prove himself that he had gotten into Camila not because he was her brother. Mina hugged him.
Kulas went to the mansion to visit Carlos, telling him that someone wanted to talk with him.
“Who?” Carlos asked.
Myrna came in, Gino following close behind. “Carlos, son…”
“What is she doing here?” Carlos asked.
“Carlos, she just wants to talk,” Kulas explained.
“After all these years she wants to talk to me? What’s this? A sick joke? We have nothing to talk about. You made your choice, remember? And you didn’t choose us. In fact, you abandoned us. What kind of mother would do that to her kids?”
“Carlos, calm down,” Gino said.
“Son, please give me a chance to make things right,” Myrna pleaded.
“We don’t need you,” Carlos told her. “After all this time, you think you can make up for leaving us? Where did you get the courage to talk to me? I’ve already accepted the fact that my mother’s a loose woman.”
Kulas and Gino told Carlos to calm down and not make a scene. Myrna pleaded with Carlos, saying that she would do anything just for him to forgive her. She held his hand and Carlos shook it off.
“I made a mistake son, but there was never a day I didn’t think about you. And I never stopped löviñg you,” she sobbed.
Robert and Mina came in a second later and Kulas introduced Myrna to them. Myrna went over to Mina and took her hand. “Are you my son’s wife?” she asked. Mina glanced at Robert.
“She’s not my wife,” Carlos said as Daniela walked in and introduced herself as Carlos’ wife. Myrna apologized. Carlos tried to make them all leave but since it had started raining, Robert suggested that they stay until the rain stopped.
