“Vendetta will be dealt with properly. If Oscar Hidalgo decides to come, k!ll him right away. I can’t allow anybody else to see him. I won’t let him take back my position. The entire nation is now under my control. Oscar must never return.”
The episode begins with President Hidalgo taking George’s jacket and running off. Cardo orders for everyone to stay put so no one goes after Oscar. Ramil asks if they’re going to let the president get away and our favorite hero states that there’s nothing more they can do if he refuses to listen to them and wants to put himself in harm’s way. Cardo is reminded that the president might get hurt or k!lled if he doesn’t help him.
The eulogies of Gracey, Yohan and President Hidalgo are expressed by some acquaintances of theirs, and Lucas seems upset over the good things being said about them. He charges Hipolito to make sure that today would be the last time anyone would say anything good about the Hidalgo family. The members of the Vendetta discuss about Oscar’s escape.
Romulo believes that he would learn the truth eventually but worries that he might approach the wrong people and make things worse.
While George’s family worry about their safety and consider asking the Vendetta to leave, Ramil and the others deliberate on the possibility of the president ratting them out. Efren makes it clear to his family that they can’t abandon the guys now that they need their help the most.
Grandma Flora is delighted to learn that her brother hadn’t been dismissed from his position. Delfin declares that he would never give up trying to find the people behind the assåssiñatiøn of the president and his family. On the orders of Lucas, a high-ranking officer orders his men to secure the location and take down the Vendetta should they show up at the cathedral.
If they pull it off, they would receive a huge reward. General Borja makes the mistake of showing up at the cathedral in hopes of going to give his last respects to the Hidalgos. Some random blockheaded civilians refuse him entry and chase him off, and they even throw stuff at him and his men. All because of his connection to Cardo.
As if that’s not enough humiliation for one day, Terante calls Delfin on phone to question him about the incident earlier. He actually scolds him and demands that he doesn’t come back to the location again. While a couple of the guys worry about the president’s safety and why Cardo had let him get away, our favorite hero broods by himself and prays for the president’s safety, and for him to get back to the Palace safely, as well as the recovery of his daughter.
“I also pray that one day, he’ll finally see the whole truth. I pray our country finds real lasting change.”
Oscar infiltrates his family’s wake keeping and he gets quite emotional at the sight.
While Alyana tries to convince her husband to go after the president and bring him back safely, Oscar evades some policemen and slips into the cathedral. From his hiding spot, he sadly regards the coffins containing the remains of his family. Terante and Lucas come into view, and Oscar overhears the former telling the latter that he’s already alerted all his men who are monitoring the vicinity.
Hipolito makes an appearance. “And if Vendetta decides to show up, you think your men can handle them?”
“Rest assured, Vendetta will be dealt with properly,” Terante declares.
“But what will happen if Oscar Hidalgo decides to come?”
It’s Lucas’ turn to butt in. “Let Terante handle him.” Lucas turns to Terante. “K!ll him. Right away. I can’t allow anybody else to see him.”
Oscar continues to spy in disbelief.
“Yes, sir.”
“I won’t let him take back my position,” Lucas pronounces. “The entire nation is now under my control. Oscar must never return.”
“You’re a mönstêr, Lucas,” Oscar thinks to himself. “You traitor.”
Lucas has a glimpse of Oscar as he turns to flee. He hurries to the back door and he’s shocked to see Oscar in the flesh. Oscar stares back at him for a while before running off. In no time, all the policemen in the vicinity are deployed to go after President Hidalgo.
Some lamebrain neighbors make a ruckus outside Grandma Flora’s house and try to compel them to move out. Flora faces off with the senseless mob and puts them in their place. Since they’re all itching to lash out at Cardo, she hands a bottle to one of the guys and asks him to take out his anger on her. That finally shuts up the mob and sends them on their way.
Oscar puts some distance between him and his pursuers, and he begins to wonder why the cops are after him. He evades them for a while before he’s found out and chased again, güñs blazing. As Oscar desperately tries to get away from the rotten cops, he runs into the Vendetta.
Cardo deftly crouches on top of the Vendetta jeep while Romulo rides with Ramil and the others inside.
Oscar stares in disbelief for a moment before turning to run the other way the rotten cops are coming from. Fortunately, our favorite hero is able to pull up the president to the roof of the jeep singlehandedly. When the rotten cops show, an all-out guñfight breaks out and the Vendetta eventually finish them off and assume their iconic stance.
While Bubbles tries to ease Alyana’s worries for Cardo and his group, the Vendetta set off for their hideout, glad that their mission had been a success.
On the rooftop of the jeep, President Hidalgo finally comes to his senses. He thanks Cardo for saving him and apologizes for not believing them. Terante informs Lucas about the failure of his men to get to Oscar because of the intervention of the Vendetta. Hipolito takes advantage of his failure to berate him and a heated argument ensues.
“Shut up!!!” Lucas yells. He then turns to Terante. “It’s quite simple, General. You have to k!ll Oscar! And you have to k!ll Dalisay! And you have to end Vendetta!”
Hipolito seems happy with Terante’s misery.
“Otherwise,” Lucas continues. “You will be the shortest serving Director General in the history of the Philippines National Police.”
Hipolito gloats and smirks as Terante leaves the office. Meanwhile, Cardo and his comrades arrive at the hideout in Baseco. Our favorite hero reunites with his wife and Oscar also shows up to a warm reception from Efren and the others.
At the Palace, Lucas contaminates Aubrey’s room with his mere presence and plans to redecorate it for Brandon. He stares at a photo frame of the Hidalgos and vows to make sure that Oscar doesn’t see his precious daughter again. The next morning in Baseco, the Vendetta and their allies have dinner and they have the president join them.
Efren is grateful that Cardo and the Vendetta had come to see his rescue last night. Solemn silence follows and George passes an insensitive comment. In the meantime, Lucas lashes out at Terante on the phone because he worries that Oscar might find a way to get to Aubrey. Terante assures him that he’s already tightened security at the hospital so he doesn’t have to worry.
“We will make it impossible for Dalisay, Hidalgo and Vendetta to get near the hospital and the funeral.”
“I don’t need promises,” Lucas grumbles. “I want results. Finish them all off!”
“Yes, sir.”
