“Yes, mommy. I am a Mondragon. I fight, and I always win.”
At Camila, Romina’s new clients congratulated her for meeting their demands and sealing the deal. After they had left, Robert came in, clapping for her. Romina told him that all this had been possible because their employees had agreed and worked overtime to produce the extra quantity of goods needed. Robert congratulated her and added that he was very proud of her. Now, one of the biggest supermarket distributors would carry their brand for export.
The new clients of Daniela told her that investing in her club would be too risky because she hardly made much profits and to make matters worse, she owned the bank big money. At Maxwell, Marga had brought along a pocketknife to pay Cassie back for ruining her bag with her her ice cream earlier. Her friends Nadya and Nica were worried that they might be caught. Maureen stood guard by the door as Marga started cutting up Cassie’s bag mercilessly.
Cassie came in later on to find some classmates gossiping and staring at her badly tattered bag. She was shocked to find the horrible state her bag was in. Marga and her friends stood by watching, pleased with themselves. Marga’s friends told her that Cassie looked like she was about to cry and Marga said that wouldn’t even be enough to pay back Cassie for making her mother cry. Kristoff came in to find Cassie and Fatima picking up her books from the floor.
Kristoff went on to help, asking what had happened. Cassie said she was fine. She removed her hair ribbon and tied it to her books, saying that they had to go so they weren’t late for their next subject. The other students clapped for her. On her way out, Cassie told Marga that the bag had been a gift from her mother and before she destroyed someone else’s things, she should first think about the importance of it to their owners.
Marga asked if she was accusing her and Cassie told her that she would let it slide this time because she had also done her wrong but she hoped it wouldn’t happen again the next time. Kristoff and Cassie were at the library. They had an upcoming history test and Kristoff offered that they study together. Cassie said she thought that he would go off with his friends again. Kristoff told her that she was his first friend, then mocked her, saying that she was jealous.
Kristoff asked if she was always like that. Cassie told him that getting sad over it wouldn’t fix her bag and she wouldn’t give Marga and her group the satisfaction of seeing her affected by their handiwork. Kristoff’s friends from the basketball team came and lo and behold, they dragged him away telling him to study for the paper later. Kristoff wondered why Marga would do something like that to Cassie since they were related. He asked his friends why they seemed so scared of Marga.
“It’s not like that,” one of them said. “We’re just being careful. Marga’s the queen…queen of evil.”
They warned him that if he wanted to survive at Maxwell, then he had to stay away from Marga and the people who had made her angry. (Meaning Cassie as well). Kristoff went off with them, leaving Cassie to study by herself. At the Mondragons, Cassie was working on a painting when her uncle Neil came in. When Cassie mentioned that he looked stressed, Neil told her that he wanted to resign from the company because the work was too much.
Neil worried that it would be like a slãp in the face of Robert since he had taken care of him. Neil noticed Cassie’s badly designed bag and he asked what had happened to it. He asked whether she was robed or almost kidnapped and Cassie said she didn’t really know what had happened. Not believing her, Neil told her to tell him if there was someone bullying her at her new school. He promised not to tell her mother about it and Cassie reluctantly told him that it was Marga.
“Marga? Daniela’s cat? She really does take after her mother, huh?”
Going back on his word, Neil wanted to tell Romina about it but Cassie convinced him not to . She said she could take care of herself and she didn’t want any trouble. Neil however said he would tell her mother if it ever happened again, adding that her parents lōvêd her so much that they wouldn’t even allow a mosquito or any other insect to bite her.
The next day at school, Romina dropped off Cassie and Fatima took her to a hallway after her mother had left. Apparently, Cassie was now a trendsetter – some other students were now following her lead after she had stood up to Marga yesterday. Marga confronted Cassie and the two Mondragons faced off while messy-haired LJ watched secretly nearby.
Kristoff walked around campus. First, he noticed that some students were now carrying their books which had been tied by ribbons (Just like how Cassie had done yesterday. You go girl. You’ve been in this school for less than a month and you’re already the queen of fashion!). He was then staring at a music poster when Cassie came along and asked if he wanted to sign up for the music club since he lōvêd singing when they were kids.
As Cassie tried to convince him to sign up, kristoff’s friends from the basketball team came and asked if he was staring at the basketball poster. They then took him away to sign up for the basketball team. Romina and Fatima’s mother, Mrs. Paterno, walked into a room where the PTA was going to be held. Daniela walked in a few seconds later and stared down at Romina.
The basketball tryouts was ongoing, and Cassie cheered on Kristoff as he played. Meanwhile, Marga eyed Kristoff and Cassie as Cassie cheered and Kristoff scored goal after goal. (Oh,oh. Daniela’s cat has that look again. The one that says – “hey you, you’re all mine.” ). Back at the PTA, Daniela was nominated for president and the teacher overseeing the event declared the voting closed.
Mrs. Paterno stood up and objected to it, saying that Daniela had been PTA president for years now but she hadn’t done a single thing for them. Daniela turned and gave her a death glare. Much to her annoyance, another parent supported Mrs. Paterno, saying that she couldn’t remember a single event that Daniela had involved herself in. Romina then asked that they settle the matter peacefully and vote on it.
To Romina’s surprise, Mrs. Paterno nominated her for president and Daniela asked them to vote. She however had about 3 votes only. Romina had been declared president and Daniela rolled her eyes at her in contempt before storming out of the room. (Oh god, am löviñg the defeated look on Danny’s face!)
Kristoff was picked and added to the basketball team among some others after the tryouts was over. His friends congratulated him and Cassie as well. Marga stood watching and her eyes popped wide open when Kristoff’s friends asked if he was in a relationship with Cassie. Kristoff said they were too young for that and she was like a little sister to him. They didn’t believe him though.
Daniela confronted Romina after the PTA meeting. “You’ll soon mess up and show everyone just how worthless you really are. And everyone would regret choosing you over me.”
Cassie came by and greeted them. Daniela told her that her mother was now PTA president. She told Cassie to ask her mother how she had acquired that position along with everything she had. Eyeing Daniela, Romina told Cassie that she would walk her to her class because she needed to get a drink because she had eaten something really bitter at the meeting earlier. (Oh, poor Danny).
At Camila, Romina told Bonita that she had been nominated PTA president, as well Daniela. Bonita was excited when she learned that Romina had won. Romina however was sad because Daniela had still not changed. She told Bonita that she would defend her daughter if Daniela ever dragged her into their issues.
“She thinks I’m bitter? I’m not. I am Daniela Mondragon.”
Carlos asked his wife why she was still talking about it if she wasn’t as bitter as Romina had said. Daniela said Carlos was her husband and he had to listen and defend her. “What should I do? Go to their house and start a fight?” Carlos asked in frustration. (And I can’t help but to laugh along)
At the Mondragons, Cassie arrived home, a worried look on her face. She asked Nanny Esther why Daniela was mad at them and explained that she had seen her at the PTA talking to her mother and there had been some tension between them. Esther told her that Daniela wasn’t really on good terms with her father. Cassie asked for an explanation since she had noticed that both her parents always dodged the question.
Esther suddenly got up, saying that she was cooking some rice and she had to go and check up on it. Cassie stopped her and said that she knew she hadn’t started cooking yet. She pleaded with her to tell her the reason. Esther told her that Daniela and Robert were yet to settle their differences. Cassie said that was why she had wanted to go to Maxwell and she would do her best to befriend Marga so that her family could be whole again. (Keep on dreaming, dear. It’s free and also the cheapest thing in the world)
At Maxwell the next day, Cassie and Marga faced off, passing different opinions about a novel their teacher had asked questions about. Eventually, the other students clapped for Marga, and it seemed that she had won the battle. The teacher asked everyone to get ready for the upcoming parents assessment day. When Cassie asked what it meant, the teacher told her that it was all about parents coming to assess the performance of their kids.
Carlos went to his father’s house and gave his brothers some money. Mr. Kulas brought up the fact that Marga had told him that Cassie now attended the same school as her. Carlos said it was true and he had already talked to Robert who wanted him to help him to patch things up with Daniela. Mr. Kulas didn’t give a damn if his son wanted to help Robert or not. All he wanted was to know that Carlos still didn’t have any feelings for Romina.
Carlos said he had already moved on (and his face says he’s a very terrible liar). Marga asked her friends to wait while she went to talk to Kristoff. She introduced herself and Kristoff said he already knew who she was. Marga then told him to come to her if he had any questions concerning the upcoming assessment day and Kristoff said he didn’t really need her help. He told Marga that he had basketball practice.
After he left, Marga’s friends asked her why she was suddenly befriending Kristoff. Marga said she had just found out that Kristoff was close with Cassie. They asked what her plan was and Marga told them that she would make sure Cassie ended up with nothing and the only person she would have left would be Fatima (Actually, Marga said : “Fat-tima)
At Camila, Robert thanked Romina for helping make the company bigger than it was before. Robert then told her that he had heard about what had happened at the PTA, and that she didn’t have to apologize because she had won it fair and square. Romina said she hoped Daniela would understand and see it the same way because she really wanted them to mend their relationship. (Like mother like daughter. Dear Mina, keep on dreaming okay)
At the music club at Maxwell, Kristoff watched silently as some guys played some musical instruments. After some beats, he began to sing along. Cassie came up behind and caught him in the act. “I knew you still lōvêd singing,” she said to him.
Kristoff tried to run off but Cassie pulled him back and said that she wasn’t making fun of him. The drummer came out and asked if Cassie was there for the audition and Cassie pointed at Kristoff, saying that he was the one who had come to sign up. Soon, Kristoff began singing as the drummer and guitarist played. Cassie watched from the doorway and smiled at him and Kristoff eventually smiled back. He seemed to be enjoying the performance.
Marga and her friends were engaged in a conversation when Fatima slipped and spilled ice cream on Marga’s uniform. Angry, Marga began her verbal abuse and tried to ãttaçk Fatima but Cassie stopped her. Marga asked her to leave and mind her own business but Cassie refused, saying that Fatima was her friend. Meanwhile, Carlos had come to pick up Marga and he was shocked to witness the brutality of her own daughter as she told Cassie that she was a loser and would never beat her.
When Marga saw her father, she told him that it was Cassie and her friend who had started it. Carlos asked if it was true and Cassie said it had only been an accident. At the Mondragons, in Cassie’s bedroom, Cassie told Nanny Esther about the incident that had occured in school, and added that Marga always bullied Fatima. She pleaded with her not to tell her parents since it could start a fight and make Daniela and Robert’s relationship even worse.
“Is that how you are at school, Marga?” Carlos asked after they had gotten home.
Daniela arrived on the scene and Marga explained the side of her story. She put all the blame on Cassie and said that Cassie had wanted to get back at her for beating her in class by spilling ice cream on her uniform. Like always, Daniela jumped to Marga’s defense and supported her, saying that Cassie was to blame. Carlos said that Marga had still made a mistake and they hadn’t raised her that way. ( Objection! Your dearest wife had! And you watched it happen).
Marga said she had just been defending herself. Daniela asked her to go to her room so she could have a talk with her father. Carlos and Daniela got into an argument; Daniela said their daughter was a good kid and Romina’s daughter was the one to blame and Carlos said they didn’t know the whole story. Carlos then stopped his wife from going to confront Romina. He told her not to make things worse because their daughter was old enough to fix her own mess.
At the dining table at the Mondragons, Robert and Romina praised Neil for his great presentation at work while Cassie sat silently. Esther gave Cassie the signal while a worried Romina asked what the matter was. Cassie said that she had gotten into a fight with Marga earlier. Robert asked what had happened. Meanwhile, at the Bartolomes, in Marga’s room:…
“I hate her! I hate her mommy! I hate Cassie!”
Marga went on and on with her wild screams. Daniela sat beside her and asked her what had really happened. She demanded to know the truth. The truth, and nothing but the truth. ( And she’s gonna hear lies. Lies, and nothing but lies). Back at the Mondragons, Cassie explained that Fatima, her friend, had accidentally spilled ice cream on Marga’s bag. Marga had insisted that Fatima had done it on purpose so she had stood up for her.
Neil was happy to hear that but Romina told him not to encourage her. Cassie apologized and Robert said there was no need for that because she had been right to defend her friend. Romina asked if she should talk to her teacher and Cassie convinced her not to, saying that she would handle things herself and didn’t want her and Marga’s relationship to become any worse.
Back at the Bartolomes, Marga told her mother that they had just been playing a prank on Cassie since she was the new girl in school but she had taken things differently and wanted to get even. (Told you she was gonna lie. A perfect copy of her evil rotten evil mother ). Back at the Mondragons, Robert told Cassie that he had received the letter from her teachers concerning the assessment day and he would talk to Marga there.
“But you know what to do, right?” Daniela asked her daughter.
“Yes, mommy. I am a Mondragon. I fight, and I always win.” (Nönseñse . Why don’t you drop out of school and become a professional boxer if you’re so good at fighting and never losing?)
” That’s my girl.” Daniela complimented.
Later that evening, Mr. Kulas came to visit and found only Marga there. He asked why she looked sad and Marga said that her father had scolded her earlier because of grandpa’s daughter. Mr. Kulas said that ‘that girl’ had no manners and Marga quickly agreed to it, saying that Cassie was a bad person who had been trying to humiliate her ever since she transfered to Maxwell.
“Don’t worry,” the one-eyed-old man said. “I’ll handle your dad while you deal with Romina’s daughter. Don’t you lose to her. You’ll always be better than her, remember that.”
The next morning, Carlos wanted to join Marga for dinner but she said she had to go because she had something to do at school. Today was assessment day and Carlos asked if she was still mad at him and Marga just stared at him. Carlos tried to talk some sense into his daughter but it was of no use; she accused her father of siding with Cassie and Carlos said he just didn’t want her to start anymore fights.
Carlos took her hand and told her that he lōvêd her and he was just showing her there right path. Marga didn’t seem to be listening though. She snatched back her hand and told him that the assessment was at 10 and he shouldn’t be late. She got up to leave and Carlos said she had forgotten something. Reluctantly, Marga went over and gave her father a ki$$.
