“But she doesn’t want to…if this was facegram, she would have blocked you, reported you as spam and moved you to trash.”
Robert stopped Daniela outside the Bartolome residence and when Daniela came out of her car, she asked whether it was about Cassie again. Robert asked what he had to do to mend their relationship and Daniela said she had answered that question a long time ago.
Robert told her that no matter how many times she pushed him away, he was still her father and she could always count on him. Daniela said it was too late and Robert told her that he was ready to help if she needed any financial assistance. Daniela told her father that she would never ask anything from him, even if she was to lose everything, he would be the last person she would ever ask.
At Camila the next morning, Robert told Romina about the report the investigators had made on Daniela’s clubbing business. He was worried that if they didn’t find a solution soon, then they would be forced to sell off their assets in order to pay off their debts. Mina told Robert that even though she was upset with Daniela for what she had done, he had to help Daniela because she needed him and he didn’t need to ask for her (Mina’s) permission.
Robert asked how he could help her when she always turned him down anytime he tried to help. Mina told Robert that it wasn’t his fault because he had tried to help them several times before and they had always refused. After beating himself over for not trying hard enough, Robert asked if Mina was going to the PTA meeting.
Mina said she was and Robert said he was sure that Daniela would also be there. Mina told her husband that she wouldn’t mention the matter to Daniela and he (Robert) shouldn’t tell her (Mina) his plans so that Daniela wouldn’t have a reason to reject his offer. At the Bartolome residence, Daniela cried over the mess they were in while Carlos tried to comfort her.
Carlos told his wife that he too didn’t want to lose the club but they had to file for liquidation before their creditors sued them. Daniela sobbed, saying she couldn’t because losing the club would be like losing a child. She added that the club was all they had and worried about what would happen to them, especially Marga if they lost it. Carlos said it would be worse for Marga if they kept pretending that things were fine.
Carlos added that a lot of people already knew that their club had collapsed and their creditors wanted their money back. Carlos assured Daniela that he would look for another job and that he wouldn’t leave her. He suggested that they either lessen their expenses or release some of their maids and lie low for now to avoid getting sued until they get back on their feet.
After crying some more, Daniela told Carlos that they had to keep the situation from Marga so she didn’t get distracted from her studies and Carlos agreed to it. At Maxwell, Cassie was on her phone, typing a text message to her mother, notifying her that class had ended and she was going out with Fatima.
Meanwhile, Fatima was asking Cassie why she still wanted to bond with Marga even after Marga had warned her to stay away from her. Cassie told Fatima that she wanted to be friends with Marga because they were family and Fatima said it wasn’t a fairy tale and she didn’t have to be close with Marga just because they were family. Cassie said she knew that but there was no harm in trying to mend things.
“But she doesn’t want to,” Fatima said. “If this was facegram, she would have blocked you, reported you as spam and moved you to trash.”
“I guess so,” Cassie said. “I don’t force people to like me, Fatima. And it’s okay if she really doesn’t want us to be friends.” Cassie added that she would now focus on her studies since it was the reason she was in Maxwell. And then, she saw Leslie Joy “LJ” the outcast, sitting on a bench, reading. Ignoring Fatima’s warnings, Cassie ran over to LJ and sat beside her. The weird girl was reading a magic book on spells and incantations.
“You read that too?” Cassie asked. LJ looked surprised and Cassie told her that she had read that magic book before and she was eagerly waiting for the third part to come out since it wasn’t in the bookstores yet. LJ said she had a copy of the third book at home and asked whether Cassie wanted to borrow it. Cassie was excited. She introduced herself and Fatima and asked LJ whether she wanted to go out with them. LJ asked whether she hadn’t heard the things people said about her.
“What? That you’re a witch? Is that true? Because if it is…then I want you to curse someone.” Fatima protested and Cassie said she was just kidding and she knew that LJ wasn’t really a witch. “You’re cool…not like your niece,” LJ said and Cassie told her not to be a bigmouth or someone might hear her. The three girls laughed together and Cassie smiled back at Kristoff who stood nearby.
At the Bartolomes, Carlos paid off two of their maids, thanked them and sent them on their way. After they had left, Daniela started complaining, asking if he was going to fire all the maids since the house was too big for just one maid to care for. Carlos said he would ask his father if there was anyone who wanted to work for them because it would be cheaper that way. Daniela said she didn’t care as long as they did their jobs well and didn’t steal from them.
Marga came in, greeted them and asked where her nanny was going to since she had seen her outside, leaving. Daniela told Marga that they had a problem with the agency her nanny was from and they would find a replacement soon. Marga announced that the PTA meeting was tomorrow and Daniela said she would be there. Marga then asked if they could go shopping later on and Daniela agreed to it.
“You’re going shopping? Have you forgotten our situation?” Carlos asked after Marga had left. “Spoiling Marga isn’t helping.”
Daniela asked what kind of parents they would be if they couldn’t provide for their daughter and Carlos tried to reason with her, saying that he had allowed her to spoil Marga while they had money but they had to tread carefully from now. At the PTA meeting at Maxwell, Romina suggested that they give their kids the chance to utilize their skills with the guidance of the parents. Daniela also suggested that they let the kids have their own fashion show. Eventually, Mina agreed to it.
One of the members suggested that Daniela should handle the sound and lighting since she had a club (that had almost collapsed) and Mrs. Paterno backed her up, adding that it was her idea after all. Daniela was taken by surprise but her pride wouldn’t allow her to turn down the offer. In class, the teacher announced that the students would be having their own fashion show soon. Everyone was excited and Marga mentioned that she was sure it was her mother who had brought up the idea.
Upon Marga’s request, the teacher asked the students to divide themselves into two groups. Soon, Cassie and Marga were in different groups. Marga’s group consisted of her mean squad (Nadya, Nica and Maureen) and some others while Cassie had Fatima, LJ and a few others on her side. Again, Marga suggested that Cassie be the leader of the other group and Cassie, who had the feeling that her niece was up to no good reluctantly agreed to it.
Nadya said she was sure that their group were going to be the winners since Marga had thousands of followers on her vlog (video blog) channel. Cassie’s group had heard Nadya’s comment and a guy from Cassie’s group was staring at Cassie as if to say – “We’ve already lost this competition. Yeah, you might be pretty cute, but you don’t know a damn thing about fashion advertisement. And how many followers do you have on social media? 3 minus 1,000,000?”
“We’re going to slay, girl,” Nadya was saying and Maureen asked what she meant by that. “Because duh…” (Marga and Nadya gave her a signal as if saying because Cassie was in the other group). Meanwhile, Cassie tried to convince her group that they could do well as she smiled back at Marga. Carlos went out to look for work but the recruiter said they couldn’t pick him because his training and qualifications were outdated.
Back at Maxwell, walking down a hallway, Nadya mentioned that Marga’s recent post on her video blog had more than a million views.
Cassie was discussing with some members of her group about how they would go about the fashion show. A girl from the group had a phone call from her mother.
Apparently, she had to start heading back home. A guy suggested that they create a facegram group (Funny thing was, judging from the look on Cassie’s face, she either didn’t have a facegram account or didn’t know how to use one). Cassie gave them the go-ahead and said she would inform her mother about it. Marga and her mean squad came along.
“You’re still having a meeting?” Marga began.
“Just discussing some last minute things,” Cassie replied, smiling like always.
” What’s the point? Do you really think that your team can win against mine?”
“Maybe she needs a new pair of glasses,” Nadya added.
“But why?” Maureen said, clearly confused. (She seemed to be the least intelligent of the mean squad). “Her glasses are nice and look good on her.”
“Just shut your mouth, Maureen,” Nadya said while Marga seemed annoyed about her comment.
Cassie told Marga that she hadn’t accepted the leadership of the group to compete with her. Marga rolled her eyes at her in response. “All of us are competing to be number one,” Marga said. ” But as for your case, number two…because there’s no doubt we’ll be number one.”
At the Mondragon mansion, Cassie sketched a design for the fashion show. Her mother came up to her and said it was beautiful. Cassie said she would submit the design to their adviser for approval after she was done so that she (the adviser) would know if the two designs (hers and Marga’s) were okay.
Mina seemed confused. “What do you mean? Shouldn’t you submit one design per class?”
“Our class was divided into two groups,” Cassie revealed. Like always, Cassie was smiling like it was no big deal. “Marga and I are the leaders of our respective groups.”
At the Bartolome residence, Marga worked on her design while her mother coached her, telling her to follow her lead if she wanted to win. Marga then told Daniela that her class had been divided into two groups and Cassie was the leader of the other group.
Back at the Mondragons, Romina asked Cassie why her class had been divided into two groups and Cassie told her that it had been Marga’s idea. Mina worried about how it might bring about misunderstandings between her and Marga and Cassie told her not to worry because she was not going to compete with Marga.
Back at the Bartolomes, Daniela asked her daughter what Cassie knew about designing clothes and Marga admitted that Cassie was good at art but she had very terrible taste. Marga asked her mother not to worry because she was going to win the competition.
“Don’t lose, Marga, especially to Romina’s daughter,” Daniela said.
“Mommy, I never lose to anyone.” Marga replied.
“You really are my daughter.”
Back at the Mondragons, Cassie asked her mother permission to stay a little bit late after school so she could meet up with her group. Mina seemed worried. “Who are you working with? Are there any boys?” She worried that they might just fòöl around instead of doing their work.
Cassie told her not to worry because her classmates were really nice. At Camila, Robert discussed with the board members about their new competitors in the market. Unless they were ready to be second best, Camila needed to improve upon the variety of their products. Cassie showed her design to her group members and they all liked it.
“Who’s going to be our model,” one of the asked.
“I have an idea,” another began, smiling. “Fatima can be our model.”
“Are you mad at me, or do you want people to laugh at me?” Fatima asked.
” Hear me out,” the other girl tried to explain. “If other groups would choose students who look like models we’ll stand out if you’re a model.”
“Is that a compliment or an insult?” Fatima said. “My answer is no. I nominate Cassie.”
Cassie looked like she was about to faint out. “What? Why me? Fatima…”
“It’s your design,” Fatima explained. “Of course you should wear it.” The bell rang and they all left to go and have lunch.
A few seconds later, Marga’s mean squad – Nadya, Nica and Maureen came into the classroom after Cassie and her group had left. Nadya took a photo of Cassie’s design so they could show it to Marga. Back at Camila, Romina brought lunch for her husband who had forgotten to eat since morning. Robert told Mina that they had lower sales than usual due to the new competition in the market, adding that they needed to come up with something new and exciting to break the market.
Robert then asked how the PTA meeting had gone. Mina said it had gone well and they had all agreed to do a fashion show that Daniela had suggested. Mina told him that Daniela had been put in charge of all the lights and sounds for the show. Robert worried about where Daniela would get the money to fund the fashion show, saying that handling an event at Maxwell wasn’t a joke because people had very high expectations.
Carlos arrived home after a fruitless job hunt. He told his wife that one of the companies he had gone to were offering too low a salary while the other wanted him to undergo training first before they picked him. Daniela then told him that she needed to withdraw some money from their account. Carlos asked what it was for and she explained that Maxwell was having a fashion show and she had promised to take care of the lights and sounds. Carlos looked frustrated.
“You know I won’t allow it, right?” he asked.
” But I already made a pledge. I can’t back out.”
Carlos asked why she had done that since she already knew the situation they were in. He added that that money was meant to be used for the apartment they would be moving into.
“What did you expect me to do? Tell them I can’t shoulder the expenses? I won’t embarrass myself in front of other people.”
“So you’d rather choose your pride over our needs?” Carlos asked.
” Yes,” Daniela replied. “I’m trying to save face for our daughter.” She added that the suggestion had come to her as a surprise and she didn’t want their daughter to think badly about them had she refused.
“Think carefully, Daniela. That’s all the money we have at the bank. We’re also paying off debts.”
Carlos added that he was sure Marga would understand if they told her that they couldn’t fund the fashion show. Daniela refused, saying that they had already decided that Marga wouldn’t know about their situation. Carlos told her to find another source to fund the fashion show then because they weren’t going to use their money.
After Carlos stormed off, Daniela had a phone call from her father. She picked up and asked what he wanted. Back at Maxwell, Marga showed her design to her group, asking if it was beautiful or not. A guy asked if it wouldn’t be too difficult to make and Marga said they could do it. Kristoff suggested that they all work together on it.
Meanwhile, Marga’s mean squad seemed to be ashamed of themselves. “Why are you two so quiet,” Marga asked after everyone else had left. “Don’t you like the design that I made?Nadya said they liked it and when Marga asked what the matter was then, she showed her the picture she had taken of Cassie’s design.
At Camila, Mina presented to the board the new product they had to launch to overcome the competition from the market. Some of the board members were against it, saying that it was too risky to launch a new product when they had been recording some low sales for some time now. Eventually, the board agreed to Mina’s idea but they debated over who should take overall charge of the production of the new products.
Much to the dismay of the board, Robert insisted that Mina be the one to be in charge of everything. In the classroom at Maxwell, the teacher reminded Cassie that the deadline for the submission of the designs was today and they would be disqualified if they didn’t submit theirs before the end of the day. Cassie told her that she had already left their design on her table at the faculty room.
The teacher said she hadn’t seen anything there, apart from the design made by Marga’s group. While Cassie told the teacher that she would go and check after class was over, Nadya commented that Cassie’s group didn’t even stand a chance of winning even if they submitted their design.
Robert met up with Daniela at a restaurant and asked how things were going. Daniela seemed annoyed that her father had had her investigated and Robert told her that he was still her father and she could come to him whenever she needed any help. A member from the Camila board came up and told Robert that the board had finally agreed to make Mina the head of the production of the new products.
Daniela wasn’t too happy to hear that. She walked out on Robert after the board member had left. Back at Maxwell, Fatima told LJ that their design for the fashion show was missing and they couldn’t find it after searching the entire faculty. Cassie wondered where it could be and LJ asked whether they had another copy. When Cassie said they didn’t, LJ then said that it was possible that someone might be deliberately trying to sabotage them.
“Cassie, maybe Marga took our design,” Fatima added. And LJ backed her up, saying that Marga was very capable of that and even much worse. Cassie said she didn’t want to point fingers because that wouldn’t change the fact that their design was missing. The good news was that their teacher had extended the submission deadline of their design until tomorrow. Cassie convinced Fatima and LJ that they could still catch up and make a new design before tomorrow’s deadline.
They walked away while Marga and her mean squad stood watching nearby. Later on, Marga retrieved a brown envelope from her bag. And what did it contain? Yeah, you guessed right – Cassie’s design. Before she could dump it into the dustbin, Kristoff came out of nowhere and saw it before she hid it behind her.
“That’s really nice,” Kristoff said. “You’re pretty good at designing. You shouldn’t just throw it away. You made it, right?” Marga was left speechless, staring back at Kristoff, not knowing what to do.
Somewhere in the hallway, Cassie discussed with Fatima and LJ how they would go about their new design. Meanwhile, Marga told Kristoff that it was the new design she had made for her group but the first one was better and that was why she was throwing it away. Kristoff said he still liked the design. He took it from Marga and showed it to the other members of the group who had just joined them. “What do you guys think? It’s Marga’s new drawing. It’s nice, right?”
“Yeah, are we submitting this one?” one of the guys asked and Marga looked like she wanted to slãp the idea out of his head.
The other members were excited, saying that they would surely win the competition if they submitted the ‘new design’ instead. While Marga looked like she wanted to be swallowed up by hell itself, her mean squad (Nadya, Nica & Maureen) were staring at each other in sheer stûpĩdity.
“You heard them. What do you think?” Kristoff asked.
“… sure, why not?” Marga said.
“Great, I’ll submit this now. Let’s go.” Kristoff left with some others to submit ‘Marga’s new drawing’.
Marga confronted her mean squad after everyone else had left. “Look at what you’ve done. Now we’ve just got forced to use Cassie’s design. Why did you steal it in the first place?”
“Sorry Marga. I thought they’d be disqualified if they couldn’t submit anything.”
Marga gave her mean squad some much needed scolding, saying that she was better than Cassie but because of what they had done, they were now stuck with her design and it would be their fault if they lost.
“But Marga…” Maureen began. “Don’t you think it’s a good design?”
“Uhh!” Marga yelled in frustration, raising up her hands as if asking for God, the devil or some other higher power to intervene on her behalf. She left her mean squad behind (who had now graduated into ‘a mess squad’).
At the Mondragon mansion, Cassie worked on her new design. Nanny Esther and her uncle Neil came in. Neil mentioned that this wasn’t the design he had seen her working on earlier and Cassie told him that their first design had gone missing.
Nanny Esther and Neil offered to help and Cassie was excited as usual. At Camila, Bonita congratulated Romina for acquiring the position of the head of the new products. She then told Mina that a parent had called from school saying that Daniela hadn’t yet confirmed the lights and sounds to be used at the fashion show. Mina made a phone call after Bonita had left.
At the Bartolomes, Daniela complained to Savannah her bratty lapdog about Mina’s new position. Savannah said that Mina would keep on gaining power in the company and Daniela couldn’t do anything to stop Mina as long as she (Daniela) wasn’t there. Savannah suggested that Daniela make up with her father and Daniela said she was going to show them that they had made the wrong decision this time.
The fashion show had finally been launched. Cassie’s group members were worried about Cassie’s absence. Fatima tried to assure them that Cassie was just making some few adjustments and would arrive soon. Nadya, who stood nearby said that maybe Cassie hadn’t been able to finish the dress and was just making excuses. (You still have a mouth to talk?) Fatima said Cassie wasn’t like that.
“Girls, stop it,” Marga jumped in. “We all know that Cassie’s group never stood a chance.”
Like always, Cassie came in smiling, with LJ following close behind. “Why don’t we all just wait for the results, Marga? The fashion show hasn’t started yet.”
Cassie apologized to her teammates for being late, explaining that traffic had been terrible. Fatima asked why she hadn’t used a helicopter and Cassie said no normal person would use a helicopter to avoid traffic. (Ouch. If only Daniela could hear you say that!) Cassie and her group got ready. Kristoff came up to her and as they smiled at each other, Marga watched angrily.
