Jenny Desperately Tries To Flee Abroad With Jack. The Lins Confront Jack’s Family About Pinky’s Dëāth. Shannon Frustrates Jenny & Jack’s Escape Plan.
Jenny tries to blackmail Mr. Hung with the video of Pinky’s drowning and even claims that she was the one who sent the videos to his family. She asks for her son to be returned in three days’ time and also asks for 100 million or else she would expose the video.
Gordon reminds Jenny that she would also be convicted together with Jack since she had been with him. Jenny says she’s not afraid to go to prison because she has nothing to lose.
Gordon makes a pathetic attempt to grab Jenny as his heart gives way. Once Jenny returns to her rented apartment, she packs up her stuff and stares at a photo frame of her son, confident that she would be able to get him back and fly to France.
In no time, Ethan shows up to ask about Jack’s new fiancée who has a ridiculous resemblance to Pinky. On Jenny’s request, Ethan goes to help her get the rest of her things ready while she attends to the landlady. When Jenny’s phone falls from the bed, he picks it up and as fate will have it, he’s shocked to see the video of Pinky’s drowning.
Jenny notices and makes a pathetic attempt to cover it up. Ethan drags her home and shows the video to her parents. Mr. Lin lashes out at Jenny and accuses her of conniving with Jack to k!ll his daughter.Jenny’s pathetic attempts to deny her involvement doesn’t work and when Ethan threatens to take her to the police, she comes clean and puts all the blame on Jack.
Nevertheless, Mr. Lin holds her responsible as well for standing by and watching Pinky drown without doing anything. He slãps her and Jenny continues to blame Jack. Mr. and Mrs. Lin lament over the tragic end of Pinky. Mr. Lin is inconsolable. He tries to go and look for Jack to finish him off. Ethan and his mother hold off Mr. Lin from going to confront Jack and Jenny grabs her cellphone and runs off. She gives Jack a call and he soon comes to meet up with her.
Jenny tells Jack that she had told the Lin family everything about what had happened to Pinky. Jack throws a fit and laments about how he doesn’t want to go to jail. Jenny then convinces him not to involve Shannon. In the meantime, Mr. Lin storms the Hung villa with his wife to confront them about the video.
Betsy has an exchange of words with Mrs. Lin over Jack’s involvement in Pinky’s dëāth. Shannon comes upon the scene to defend Jack. Gordon strives to calm down the Lins and assures them that they won’t cover for Jack if it is proven that he’s really guilty.
As the Lins leave, Shannon begins to wonder how her parents had learned of the video. Betsy and Shirleen make a futile attempt to reach Jack on the phone. Turns out that Jack is hiding out at Jenny’s place. Ethan storms Jenny’s apartment and resorts to breaking the lock to get inside. He confronts Jack about his sister’s death.
Jack denies k!lling her and tries to buy him off. When Jenny tries to intervene, Ethan shoves her away and continues to press Jack for answers. Jenny then grabs a lampstand and knocks him out cold from behind. At home, Betsy urges her husband to use his connections to settle their son’s issue.
Gordon refuses to do so and states that Jack has to be punished if he has really committed the crime. After he leaves, Shannon comes downstairs to inform Betsy and Shirleen that she’s going out to look for her fiancé. Betsy treats her with indifference.
The Lins try in vain to reach Ethan on the phone. Anyway, Shannon finds her parents waiting outside the house and makes a futile attempt to convince them to go home. Ethan is still unconscious in Jenny’s apartment. He’s been gagged and tied up inside the wardrobe.
Jack worries that he might dīê and Jenny assures him that he would be alright. She convinces him to escape abroad with her and their son first thing tomorrow morning. Jack would pick up Shawn while Jenny would get the tickets ready for their escape to France. Shannon comes to Jenny’s apartment and finds the place empty.
Shannon finds a cellphone on the floor and she’s surprised to realize that it belongs to her brother. Ethan is still in the wardrobe and hasn’t regained consciousness yet. Meanwhile, Jack arrives outside his house and he’s shocked to see Pinky’s parents waiting for him. Before they can catch him, he runs away. Shannon has a talk with Mrs. Gao and Windsor, worried about what might have happened to her brother.
Jack calls Shannon on the phone and asks her to bring Shawn to him, as well as their visas because they would be going to France. Shannon begins to put on an act and pretending that she suddenly has terrible network, she asks him to meet her at her mother’s place before hanging up.
Shannon then informs Giselle and Windsor about Jack’s intention of escaping to France with Jenny and Shawn, and she begins thinking of what to do.Ethan finally regains consciousness and makes a futile attempt to break free.
While Jenny books three tickets for the earliest flight to France tomorrow, Jack calls his mother to inform her of his plan to flee abroad. He asks her to get Shawn and his luggage ready. Shirleen is appalled to learn that her brother is trying to run away instead of facing the consequences of his actions. Also, she’s disgusted with how her parents always stick up for him.
Once Jack arrives outside the Gao residence, Shannon slips him into the basement and hands him some supplies to use. She cautions him that he might get caught by the police if he tries to leave China so he should just hide in the basement for the meantime. Jack is grateful for her help. He reveals how he and Jenny had locked up Ethan in the wardrobe and then asks that she check up on him.
Shannon gladly obliges and takes custody of Jack’s phone in case the police try to trace him through it. Shannon locks up Jack in the basement without any connection to the outside world. When Jenny isn’t able to contact Jack on phone, she calls the Hung residence and Betsy picks.
Jenny asks about Jack and Betsy tells her that she doesn’t know where he is. Jenny then hangs up and begins wondering whether Jack has been arrested. In the meantime, Windsor finds Ethan and sets him free. Shannon sends Jenny a text through Jack’s phone, telling her to go on by herself.
Jenny thinks that Jack might be trying to pull a fast one on her and take Shannon with him. Windsor brings Ethan home and covers up what had happened to him when the Lin couple begin asking questions. Ethan is surprised to learn that Windsor is the son of Mrs. Gao. The next morning, the Lin family plan to find some solid evidence to prove Jack’s involvement in Pinky’s death and have him rot in jail.
At the dining table at the Hungs, Betsy breaks down and blames Pinky for the situation her dear son is in. Shannon causally listens and observes, and so does Pauline who’s hiding under the table for some reason. A maid is bringing over some food when Pauline suddenly springs out, startling the maid and causing her to accidentally pour the food on Betsy.
Shannon is amused as Pauline tries to clean her aunt’s smeared clothes in such comical manner. Jenny storms Venus to question Shannon about Jack’s whereabouts and Shannon plays dumb and indulges her. Jenny then leaves for home and is surprised to see that Ethan has escaped.
She begins to wonder how he had been able to get away. Mrs. Gao asks Shannon how long she plans to hide Jack. Shannon says she would let him out at the right time after he’s suffered enough in the dark and dump basement. Mr. and Mrs. Lin set off for Shufon Group to go and wait for Jack and Jenny spies as they go.
