“You are a Mondragon, so don’t ever apologize… because whatever happens, you are right.”
The incident which had occurred at the boutique had been reported back to Robert by the shop owner and Romina told her husband not to worry about it. Robert said he would talk to Daniela and Romina was able to convince him not to in order to prevent another fight between them. She then said that Daniela had been right, with the things she had said, that she didn’t belong in those kinds of boutiques.
Robert said he didn’t care what people said because wherever he went, she and her daughter would always come along with him. He then asked whether she wanted to work in his company again and Romina said she would like that since she missed the place a lot. Robert told Romina that he didn’t want her back in the company as his secretary anymore but as someone who occupied a higher position because she had the potential.
Again, Romina convinced him to let her start from the bottom so she could learn everything she needed to. At the Bartolome residence, Carlos and Daniela had dinner with Marga, their daughter. Daniela told her husband that Savannah had found a better location where they could expand their club. Carlos was against the idea.
Carlos tried to reason with his wife that they didn’t have the capital to put up another branch and advised that they had to be careful so that what happened in Taiwan wouldn’t repeat itself. Daniela said she would take care of it so he shouldn’t worry so much. She added that she had learned her lesson already and no one could ever fòöl her again.
The nanny was trying to feed Marga some vegetables but the spoilt rotten child who had been blessed with her despiçable mother’s character and bad temper, pushed the food away as if it was some kind of põisoñ, shouting that she didn’t want it. Carlos told his daughter that she had to eat anything that was prepared for her but Marga just stared back at her father stubbornly. Daniela then stepped in.
“Marga, eat your food,” Daniela said.
“But I don’t like it, mommy,” the little girl replied.
Daniela told her daughter that if she ate her food, then she would buy her a whole doll collection or she would take her to Disneyland. Carlos stared in stupified wonder as Daniela went on to say that she would even buy her a brand new doll collection and take her to Disneyland at the same time if she ate her food. Mother and daughter smiled at each other.
“Daniela stopped,” Carlos interjected. “I’ve been telling you not to spoil Marga like this, right?”
“I want both, mommy,” Marga interrupted, and Daniela said she would get them if she ate her food. Marga then began to eat as Carlos stared at his wife in disbelief.
At the Mondragon mansion, Robert and Romina had dinner with Cassie and Neil (Romina’s younger brother). Robert promised the kids some ice cream later and Neil asked if they could also watch a movie. Robert told them that they would have their ice cream and watch the movie as long as they finished their vegetables. Cassie quickly agreed. Esther the caretaker stood close by as Romina asked Robert if he had talked with Marga yet.
Cassie asked who Marga was and Robert told her that Marga was his granddaughter, and she (Cassie) was the same age as her. Cassie then asked if she could play with her and Robert said it would be great if they became friends. Because Robert’s birthday was just around the corner, Cassie said that she hoped she would be able to meet Marga soon.
Marga asked her mother why they hadn’t been going to her grandfather Robert’s place. Daniela told her that it was because her grandfather had a pet snake in his house. Marga made a disgusted face as her mother added that they would go to her grandfather’s house as soon as the pet snake left.
One of Robert’s workers came in just then and he handed her an invitation (for Robert’s 49th birthday celebration). The man told Daniela that Robert was looking forward to her presence and before dismissing him, Daniela said that her father should have delivered the invitation himself if he really wanted her there.
Marga was excited when she saw the invitation. She asked her mother if they would be going. Daniela smiled to herself wickedly. No doubt she had a sinister plan in mind. At the Mondragon mansion, Robert’s birthday celebration was ongoing. After Cassie, Romina and all the other guests sang ‘happy birthday’ to Robert, Cassie gave her father a present. She had painted her father.
Robert said there was something wrong with her present – her mother and herself were missing from the painting and Robert said she had to also paint her mother and herself later on in addition. Cassie thought for a moment. “But daddy, it’s not your birthday tomorrow,” she said, and everyone else laughed. She then went up the stairs after her father had given her the go-ahead to finish the painting.
Daniela, Carlos and Marga arrived at the Mondragon mansion. Marga asked if she could stay there because her grandfather’s house was really nice. Again, Daniela brainwashed her daughter, telling her that they couldn’t stay there because her grandfather lived with bad people in the house, especially his wife. Marga then suggested that they go to the mall so she could buy some new shoes for her friend’s birthday party tomorrow.
Daniela told her that they would just greet her Grandpa and leave. Carlos said he would stay outside and while Marga also said she would do the same thing so she didn’t meet the bad people there, Robert and Romina arrived at the entrance. Daniela greeted her father and Carlos introduced Marga to Robert and said that they couldn’t stay for long. However, Robert convinced them to stay for a while. Cassie came along and Robert introduced her to Marga and the kids went to play by the pool.
Marga stood annoyingly nearby, her arms folded as Cassie painted. Cassie asked if they could be friends and Marga said she would think about it. Cassie then invited her to join her in painting. Unfortunately, she tripped and some of the paint got splattered onto Marga’s dress.
Marga was very upset that her perfect dress had been ruined. She made a scene and tried to destroy Cassie’s painting but Cassie held her back and Marga deliberately pushed her into the pool. Carlos and Daniela were walking around when they saw Cassie fall into the pool. Carlos rushed in and got her out.
Robert and Romina and a whole lot of others arrived on the scene. After Cassie was taken away to warm up, Romina asked Marga what had happened and like always, Daniela began with her verbal attack, saying that the fault wasn’t from her daughter because she had raised her well. Robert tried to calm things down between the two women.
Robert was forced to slãp Daniela when she still kept on launching insults at Romina and even said that Cassie, their daughter was a mistake. Cassie asked her father if he was going to get mad at her for falling into the pool and ruining his birthday party. Robert told her that she was more important to him than the party. Romina stood by the door, listening.
Cassie said that she hoped Daniela and Margaret would come back to the house because she really wanted to be friends with Margaret again, and she wanted to know how it felt like to have a sister. Marga asked if they would be going back to her grandfather’s house so she could apologize for pushing Cassie into the pool. Daniela told her never to apologize because she had done the right thing, and that she shouldn’t let anyone walk over her.
“Especially Cassie, and that evil mother of hers,” she added.
Marga feared that her grandfather would get mad at her and Daniela told her not to worry because they wouldn’t be going back there again.
“You are a Mondragon, so don’t ever apologize,” Daniela said to her daughter. “Because whatever happens, you are right.”
At Daniela’s club, Savannah asked Daniela what would happen when they found out the truth about who had rãpëd Romina. Daniela then had a flashback of the day Alvin had threatened to betray her if he got caught for what she had paid him to do.
Meanwhile, Robert stood outside the Bartolome residence. He rang the doorbell several times but there was no answer. Daniela saw her father waiting down there and Carlos went to ask whether she would go and face him or not.Daniela said her father had already made his decision and she was done with him.
Carlos then went down to tell Robert that Daniela didn’t want to see him and he had to give her some time. Cassie showed her mother and Neil the painting she had just finished. (The funny thing was that Neil was Romina’s younger brother. The boy wasn’t even 15 years old and yet he was now the uncle of Cassie).
Apart from Romina, Neil and herself, Cassie had also painted Daniela and Marga. When Neil asked why she had included them, Cassie said that they were all a family. Robert came in and he seemed pleased with it. After the kids left, Robert told Romina that he had waited all day outside but Daniela had refused to talk to him.
He added that he would give her some time just like Carlos had suggested to him so they could fix things between them. Later on, Romina called Daniela on the phone and asked to speak to her. Daniela and Romina met up and Romina asked what she could do to fix things between her and her father. After some exchange of words, Daniela told Romina that she had to disappear from her life forever.
Meanwhile, at Camila, Robert had a talk with the businessman who had wanted to sponsor Daniela’s club. The man was planning on partnering with another club since Daniela’s was too expensive.Robert told him to go ahead and work with Daniela’s club because he was willing to help him on the condition that he kept his involvement a secret from Daniela.
Later on, the businessman came to meet Daniela and Carlos to inform them that he had agreed to the partnership. He handed Daniela an envelope containing 20 million pesos. Daniela was excited and after the man left, she celebrated with her husband and told him that she had been right – that she didn’t need her father to make it, and that someday, she would prove it.
“He’ll regret that he never left me.” Daniela threatened. “I’ll be a bigger Mondragon than he is.”
Marga heard the commotion and when she came down to ask what had happened, Carlos told her that they were celebrating because their business was about to grow. Marga was excited. She asked her mother if she would be able to buy her the doll collection she had always wanted and Daniela said she would buy her anything she wanted because she deserved nothing but the best. Romina, Bonita and a few others watched as Cassie taught some kids some basic mathematics in her old neighborhood.
Bonita said she admired Romina and Robert because despite their busy schedules, they both had time for Cassie and raised her well. Romina asked if there was any problem at work since she had noticed that Robert seemed worried lately. Bonita told her that the company was experiencing low sales due to them being forced to increase the price of their sardines. Romina helped Cassie to share the snacks she had brought along to her friends.
Romina came up with an idea on how to make up for their company’s losses. She called her husband and informed him. At Camila, Romina explained to Robert and the board members that in order to address their current situation and win back their customers, they had to do a brand new packaging which would reduce the prices of their products.
Eventually, everyone agreed that it was a good idea. Later on back home, Robert told Romina that the board had accepted her proposal on the condition that she oversee the production. Romina and her daughter had dinner and after they had finished eating, Cassie followed in her mother’s footsteps by clearing the table.
Meanwhile, Marga sat stubbornly at the Bartolome home as the nanny poured her some milk. When her parents arrived, she showed them the paper she had passed and they congratulated her. At Camila, Romina made her presentation to Robert and the board members concerning new packaging of the sardines. When she was done, they gave her a standing ovation, accompanied by a clap offering.
At Romina’s old neighborhood, Cassie painted as caretaker/nanny Esther stood by watching. Cassie saw a stray puppy on a leash and she went over to pet it. Meanwhile, Daniela gave Marga a fishbowl with a goldfish in it. Cassie played with the owner of the puppy, another girl almost her age as Marga took pictures of her collection and most prized possessions.
There was a golden chain around Cassie’s wrist and as the camera focused on it, some time seemed to have passed. Now, both Cassie and Marga have grown up into beautiful young women. Their parents smiled and stared at them in admiration. Cassie smiled back at her parents but Marga did not – all that her face expressed was sassiness and authority.
