“I regret to inform you all, that the wedding is off. You may all go…am sorry for all the trouble. You will know how it feels to lose someone you lövê.”
Mr. Kulas asked Carlos how many men he was going to beãt up because Romina and Carlos told him that he was only protecting her. Mr. Kulas told his son that they had already watched the CCTV footage and he had already told him his opinion. He added that even though he seemed to be against Romina, he was just worried.
Mr. Kulas then said that if he insisted on marrying Romina, they would just end up hurting each other. Carlos eventually left. Obviously, he had heard enough. Carlos ran into Romina outside. She asked if he really had to beat up the guy since he was just an old friend. Carlos said that she shouldn’t have been that close to him after what had happened to her.
Mr. Kulas watched unnoticed as Romina told him that she hadn’t been doing anything wrong, she had nothing to be ashamed of and she was just trying to get her life back to normal. Romina told Carlos that she didn’t care what other people thought of her, but it hurt that he had begun to think the worst of her.
Carlos told Romina that he didn’t really know what had happened to her. He questioned whether she had really been rãpëd and Romina responded with a slãp, asking if he thought she was such a loose woman.
Carlos said that he lōvêd her a lot and she was the only woman he had ever wanted to marry, but he felt guilty that he had not been able to protect her. Romina also told Carlos that she lōvêd him and it was that lövê that gave her the strength to continue pursuing her dreams and to be able to move on from the hell she was going through.
“Carlos, I’m all yours,” Romina said, embracing him. “Let’s get married. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And I hope you feel the same too.”
Mr. Kulas, who was still watching the scene, seemed mad and frustrated that his son had not listened to him.
Later on, he went to Romina’s house to plead with her to call off the wedding and Romina asked why she had to do that. Mr. Kulas told her that his son was a good person and he shouldn’t be suffering because of her. Romina didn”t agree with it. She said that she and Carlos were the ones in the relationship and Carlos still wanted to get married to her despite what had happened to her. Rosanna appeared on the scene as Mr. Kulas begged Romina to set Carlos free.
Romina stood her ground, telling him that she wouldn’t break the promise they had made to each other. Mr. Kulas turned to leave, upset. Rosanna told him that the kids (Romina & Carlos) wanted to be together so they should let them be. Mr. Kulas sized up Rosanna before walking away. Meanwhile, Carlos sat at a bar in solemn silence when Daniela walked in.
“It’s the night before your wedding. Shouldn’t you be celebrating?” Daniela asked.
Daniela sat beside Carlos and said that she was worried about him. She told him that the police had been at the workplace, and they were trying to find the person who had rãpëd Romina. She added that the police had a lot of suspects and Romina was close to a lot of male employees.
“Don’t insult Romina in front of me,” Carlos shot back at her before getting up from the chair to leave. But he didn’t walk that far.
“I think my dad and Romina are having an affair,” Daniela said suddenly.
When Danny girl realized that Carlos had stopped and turned back to her, she smiled to herself in triumph. She then turned to face him, putting on her fragile, innocent act. She cried, telling Carlos that she had had her suspicions about it and she hadn’t wanted to believe it. She then showed him the video of Romina and Robert in a compromising position.
Carlos seemed mad and confused and Daniela added to the trouble, saying that she had seen them together a couple of times and that their relationship was far too intimate for a secretary and a boss. Daniela cried and smiled some more, adding that she was worried about how her father would be affected. Later on, Carlos laid asleep in bed while Daniela stroked his hair, smiling to herself.
“I’ll go see your bride, Carlos,” Daniela jeers. “I want to see how long she would wait for her groom who would never come.”
At the church, the gathered guests murmured among themselves that the wedding was delayed. Rosanna went out to her daughter who sat in their wedding car outside. She told Romina that they still couldn’t contact Carlos, adding that Omar had gone to find him. Romina said two hours had already passed and her mother said they had to wait for his call.
Romina told her mother that Carlos would be there, that he wouldn’t abandon her.
Meanwhile, Carlos woke up in bed and hurriedly checked his phone. He had fifteen missed calls. He hurried to get ready and go. The door to the church pulled open and Romina stood in the doorway, a flower in her hand. Rosanna, Bonita, a few of her friends, as well as Robert turned to stare at her. The guests murmured among themselves, asking where the groom was. Romina walked into the church, forcing a smile and fighting back the tears.
She made eye contact with Daniela who smirked at her. Eventually, Romina reached where Robert stood and she dropped the flowers. Back at the bedroom, Carlos hurried to dress up but then he gave up and sat back on the bed when he realized that too much time had already passed.
Back at the church, Romina stood on the platform, a microphone in her hand. “I regret to inform you all,” she said, “… that the wedding is off.”
Rosanna her mother was crying now, and Robert bowed his head down in dismay. Daniela, however, was almost smiling. She seemed pleased.
“You may all go…am sorry for all the trouble.”
Romina ran out of the church and Robert went after her. Rosanna too followed. Robert stood by and as she cried in the rain, Rosanna comforted her.
Carlos entered the church as some men were busy gathering up the decorations. One of them said that he felt sorry for the bride because the groom had not shown up. Another said that the groom had probably gotten cold feet. Carlos, who had heard the entire exchange, went running through the rain.
At home, Romina sat dejectedly as her little brother put his hand on her shoulder, while Rosanna stood a few steps away. Carlos came rushing in and asked to talk to her. Rosanna slãppêd him and asked why he had to make her wait at the altar and Carlos said he wanted to see Romina so he could explain things to her. Rosanna tried to kick him out but Carlos persisted and Romina eventually came out.
Carlos hugged her and after a while, Romina pushed him away, saying that he had already made his decision and proved that he didn’t really lövë her. Carlos begged for forgiveness but Romina began shoving him, demanding that he leave and get out of her life forever, but Carlos refused to leave.
Rosanna had an ãttaçk and fell unconscious and they took her to the hospital. A doctor attended to Rosanna. He soon found that his just-arrived patient was deãd. He came out to tell Romina that they had tried to revive her mother but her heart had been weak, and she was now deãd. Romina and her little brother cried over the body of their mother.
Robert came to the hospital with Daniela. Daniela said she had just heard what had happened and was sorry. Robert offered to pay the hospital bills and Romina insisted on paying him back later. When Daniela saw Rosanna’s body, she was reminded of the dëāth of her own mother and she almost seemed sad.
Carlos walked in just then and Robert eyed him as he went to talk to Romina. He offered his condolences and Romina pounced on him and promised that he too would experience all the pain he had caused her one day.
“You will know how it feels to lose someone you lövê,” she said.
Robert saw Carlos sitting in one of the hospital rooms. He told him to go home so he could talk to Romina at a better time. Carlos said that Robert was not his boss so he couldn’t order him around.
He made the mistake of demanding to know what was really between him and Romina and Robert rewarded him with a k!ller puñch to the mouth. Rosanna’s wake-keeping service was held. Romina’s neighbors had contributed and organized almost everything and Romina thanked them for their help. Robert also came. He told Romina that it was now his turn to help her.
Meanwhile, Carlos and Daniela were dropped off by a taxi at the entrance of the Mondragon mansion. They were very drunk and laughing about how they had had so much fun together some years ago. Meanwhile Robert watched from an upstairs room as Daniela ki$$ed Carlos.
When she came in, Robert asked what she had been doing with Carlos and Daniela said she wasn’t in high school anymore. When Robert insisted on knowing what was going on between them, Daniela said that Carlos was her ex-boyfriend and they had been separated after he had sent her off to the US and he had found someone else.
“A very cheap, cheap replacement,” she said.
Robert asked if she had a hand in Carlos and Romina’s breakup and Daniela started her act of emotional blackmail again, blaming her father for her mother’s dëāth.
Flashback: Robert and his wife engaged in an argument as a younger Daniela stood by crying. Robert was not pleased at the way his wife carried herself. He suggested that for peace to reign, they had to live their lives separately. Camila, his wife wanted to fix things with her husband but Robert said it would be of no use.
Camila ran out and Daniela pleaded with him to go after her. After a while, Robert asked for his car to be ready. They were at the hospital now – Camila had been in an accident and lost her life and Daniela blamed her father for her mother’s dëāth. Back in the present, Daniela told herself that she had had enough and it was about time she made her father stop controlling her life.
At Rosanna’s funeral, Romina promised her departed mother that she would take good care of her brother. She added that she would bury all the bad things that had happened to her and then promised to keep fighting. Carlos stood at a distance, watching. His father came up to him and said that they had to leave before he missed his flight to Taiwan.
After the burial, Robert told Romina to take all the time she needed before coming back to work. Romina staggered and Robert grabbed her hand to keep her from falling. He asked to take her to the hospital but Romina said she was fine. Her friend and fellow employee, Bonita, pointed out to her that she had been feeling kind of dizzy for countless times now. Later on, Romina went to the hospital for a check-up.
The doctor came back from the lab, congratulating her. Romina was pregnant. From the hospital, she went to a church and asked for guidance to be a good mother and overcome everything. Robert returned home and he was told that Daniela had left. Like an incurable disease, we soon find out where Daniela is; she had left the Philippines to chase after Carlos in Taiwan.
At Camila, Romina finally made her return to the office, with Bonita at her side. She was worried that people might be gossiping about her and Bonita told her not to worry. Mr.Pan and some other co-workers gave her a warm welcome and she thanked them. Later on, while Romina and her colleagues had lunch, Robert joined them. In between the break and the interactions, Romina fainted and Robert took her to the hospital.
When Robert came to the knowledge that Romina was pregnant, he asked the doctor to excuse them so they could talk privately. Romina told Robert that she had known about the pregnancy for a while and she had decided to keep the baby despite the circumstances. Robert told her not to worry because he would always be there for her.
Later on, Robert came to Romina’s place to give her a ride to work. Mr. Kulas saw the scene and he didn’t seem too pleased. He later called Carlos to ask if he had ever gone to bed with Romina before. Carlos, who had been lying asleep in bed with Daniela, told his father that he hadn’t.
Mr. Kulas then told him that Romina was pregnant and it was good that he wasn’t the father. He added that everyone was taking care of Romina, even her boss, who drove her to and from work everyday. Mr. Kulas then told his son to forget about Romina and move on with his life.
