“Life isn’t always simple and easy. You’re bound to have struggles along the way. There are some days when simply opening your eyes, or just breathing, seems difficult and painful. And you feel like giving up. As if the weight of the world is on your shoulders.”
Rica arrives at Balai Arkitektura to meet Kyle’s absence and Chino teases her with how she seems to miss him. As if on cue, Axel shows up to put his flirting skills into use, saying that Rica is fine because he’s there. Rica indulges him as Rose and the others observe with delight.
When Axel continues sweet-talking Rica, she playfully tries to get her stun güñ to use on him. Axel cowers and his coworkers can’t help but to laugh at the ridiculous exchange.Raven visits a gravesite with her father which turns out to be her uncle Bobby’s. She wonders whether her grandpa cares enough to visit.
A year has passed since the tragic incident at the rooftop, and Troy has resigned from office as the mayor. A flashback reveals that when Troy and Kyle rushed at Bobby, the güñ hadn’t hit either of them. Bobby shoves Troy to the floor and as he wrestles with Kyle for the güñ, Troy recovers and punches him.
Bobby drops to the floor and loses his güñ to Kyle in the process. Troy urges him to stop the föolishñess but refusing to share a prison cell with his son, Bobby lashes out at his brother and to spite him, he deliberately jumps off the rooftop to his dëāth.
Troy, Kyle and Rica are horrified. Presently, Troy laments over how his father had raised him and Bobby to be rivals. He then goes on about how he never wanted to be like his father. Raven says it’s impossible for him to be like her grandpa.
“I am so proud of you,” Raven says with a smile.
Troy gets all emotional. “No award in this world, or any award I have ever received as mayor, will ever compare to the words you just said to me. I lövê you, sweetheart.”
“And I lövê you too, dad. I know that it’s scary to start all over again, but I’m always here. We can face our new life together.”
Jigs is briefed by the lawyer on how to handle the hearing tomorrow. Alberto charges the lawyer to destroy Rica when she testifies in court. Jigs is unsettled to realize that his grandpa doesn’t give a damn about his father’s dëāth as well as the anniversary.
He laments over how he had treated him like trash and Alberto reprimands him, saying that he shouldn’t speak to him that way because he’s the only one he has left.
Rica has a talk with her mother about her case and the hearing that would be happening tomorrow. Karla urges her daughter to make her voice heard and clear with confidence once she takes the stand. That way, they can no longer turn a deaf ear.
A moment later, Rica receives a huge brown teddy bear and a well-wishing note from Kyle. Pogs is hanging out and studying with Bea when Dan comes over and asks him to head home. Bea argues that it isn’t that late and Dan tells her that it isn’t appropriate because he’s now her boyfriend.
When Pogs begins smooth-talking Dan, Karla playfully reveals to him that her husband has already approved of him as Bea’s boyfriend. Anyway, Rica receives a text from Kyle who’s supposedly still in the US.
As she hugs the teddy, Kyle makes a surprise appearance to hug her as well. He gives her words of encouragement for her hearing tomorrow. Rica brings up the incident that had happened on the rooftop a year ago and Kyle tells her that he’s learned to make peace with the truth.
Raven comes to see her dear cousin in prison and when he lashes out at her for betraying him, she makes known her reason for what she had done and tries to convince him to amend his ways.
She then assures him that she would always lövê and forgive him no matter how hard it gets. Jigs is quite emotional. Rica’s camp arrive at the courtroom for the hearing and when attorney Dizon steps out to answer a phone call, Troy follows.
Raven, Rose, Ella and Cassandra show up to support Rica. Attorney Dizon is all worked up because she hopes to win the case lest she disappoint Rica, Ella and the other girls. And him (Troy) as well. Troy merely urges her to do her best and fight for his daughter.
Back in the courtroom, Alberto makes his appearance and begins criticizing the Sicats and their allies. He says his grandson is a great man and won’t be destroyed. After today, Rica will know her place. But someone disagrees with the great Alberto Ramones. Someone who leaves everyone in shock. Audrey.
Audrey faces off with her former father-in-law. “Which is why I was so miserable. Right? These women are destined to be great women, despite what your grandson did to them. You will not get in the way of that.”
Alberto glares at Audrey without words to say. Raven and Karla seem glad with the pleasant surprise that is Audrey. Rica thanks Audrey for what she said and Audrey tells her that it wasn’t enough for all the trouble they caused her family. Troy returns with attorney Dizon and is left staring at Audrey with delight. In no time, the trial begins after Jigs is brought in.
Rica gives her testimony of the night of the rãpë and the Ramones lawyer cross-examines her and makes deliberate efforts to fault her statements. Jigs takes the stand and continues with his shenanigan, to the point of claiming that he and Rica were in a relationship before the incident on that fateful night.
When Rica takes the stand again, she disputes Jigs’ claim of being a couple so the Ramones lawyer resumes with his onslaught to discredit Rica. Rica gets pretty loud and calls out to Jigs to admit to his crime. The judge calls for order before Jigs takes the stand again.
The former rotten councilor Jigs keeps on with his act and the claim that everything that happened with Rica was consensual. Karla calls him a liar. Raven and Audrey look deeply sorrowed while Troy seems angry and ready to explode. Alberto gloats while Jigs struggles to keep on with his act.
“Rica Sicat is telling the truth,” Jigs finally admits, shocking attorney Dizon, Rica, her family and everyone else. “I rãpëd her. I rãpëd Rica Sicat.”
The great Alberto Ramones is horrified. “What did you do? I thought your föolishñess died with your stüpïd father! You’re just as stüpïd as…”
Alberto suffers a heart ãttaçk there and then and Troy and his family fret over him. The news of Jigs’ admission of the truth is reported on TV, and his partners in crime are also nabbed by the police.
Later, Audrey shows up at the Sicats to drop off some architectural books she had gotten for Rica from a book shop in Paris. Karla gladly receives them and also gives her some gifts of her own. Audrey plans to return to Paris to continue her fashion design course since she’s already separated from Troy.
A voiceover by Rica: “Life isn’t always simple and easy. Even when you’re minding your own business, working on your dreams, and löviñg the people you choose to lövê, you’re still bound to have struggles along the way.”
Audrey is excited to finally have the chance to fulfil her dreams, and Karla tells her that she’s happy because she’s happy. Audrey returns the favor and both women agree to continue fighting for their happiness. A quite emotional hug makes the scene even more beautiful. Anyway, Troy decides to take care of his father who’s now been confined to a wheelchair after suffering a stroke.
Laura says he isn’t obliged to do that and Troy recounts how hatred and lack of compassion has ruled the Ramoneses for years: he wants to change that. Laura tells Troy that he’s a good man indeed and Troy is delighted. They both become transfixed, staring into each other’s eyes and you can’t help but to wonder whether a new romance is in the making.
In school, Bea admonishes Pogs for not reacting to a photo she had posted of them on her social media account. Pogs apologizes, saying that he hasn’t been online all day. He fishes out his phone and likes and comments, and Bea resolves to make peace with him.
Rica’s voiceover continues: “And there are some days when simply opening your eyes, or just breathing, seems difficult and painful. And you feel like giving up. As if the weight of the world is on your shoulders.”
Troy hangs out with his daughters and makes known his intention of organizing a mental awareness seminar. Raven wonders how her dad is able to run a chain of hotels, take care of grandpa and handle charity organizations.
To top it all, he still has the energy to be with her and her sister. Troy says she and Rica give him strength. When he admits that Laura has been helping him out too, the girls tease him. Rica brings up the guy who’s invested in Raven. Troy asks about the interested in Raven and Rica tells him that it’s their little secret.
Troy gives in and decides to take a selfie with his daughters. Later, Raven has another sweet encounter with Axel at the bar. Karla snuggles close to her husband and reflects on last year’s incidents which had resulted in such peace. Dan says he’s lucky and grateful because she had changed his life for the best.
Rica’s voiceover continues: “Life will give you family. Life will give you a new beginning. And life will give you løvë.”
Karla couldn’t be anymore happier. Meanwhile, Rica hangs out with Kyle at the rooftop of the Constantine where it had all begun. Kyle reflects on their past experiences and promises to keep fighting for the both of them. Rica is glad to realize that after everything that happened to her, there are still people who lövê her – her family, and her colleagues at work.
“And I also have you,” Rica declares with that contagious smile. Rica and Kyle smile and stare at each other lovingly, and the show concludes as they snuggle close to each other.
