“My daughter. Rica Sicat is the one I believe in. And I will stand with her, and trust Rica’s statement. Is it too late to save my life? Maybe. But I sure as hell would try. Now get the hell out of my house!”
The episode begins with Karla approaching Ella and asking that they talk. Ella is reluctant but still, Karla pesters her with questions about Archie. Though Ella tries to run her off, Karla begins asking about why she had distanced herself from Jigs and his friends, hoping that she knows something that might help with her daughter’s case.
Ella still refuses to talk but ultimately, Karla figures out that she too had been a victim of Jigs. And then begins the second round of barrage of questions. Ella turns a deaf ear to Karla’s pleas and asks to be left alone as her mother joins her outside.
Enter Archie who comes to ward off Karla, even resorting to shoving her to the floor as she cries for Ella’s help. Karla rises to her feet and laments over how her daughter’s life had been dëstrōyed because of the situation.
Again, she pleads with Ella to fight the battle alongside her daughter so she doesn’t give up. After making an announcement about Legend Factory and the Union protestors in front of the cameras in his office, Troy brings up the anti-voyeurism case which had made Rica a liar, according to popular opinion.
Back at the Montecillos, Archie begins getting loud and physical with Karla and when Dan comes upon the scene and to his wife’s defense, we’re all a little bit disappointed that he hadn’t let his fists do the talking this time. Karla cries out to Ella as she heads back inside with Archie and her mother.
Archie is scolded by Ella for how he had mistreated Rica’s mother earlier. Unrepentant, Archie claims he had just been trying to protect her. Ella is appalled since it’s his fault that Rica’s life had been ruined. She tries to run him off and now it’s Archie’s turn to beg. Drama unfolds.
Outside, Karla updates her husband about the interesting turn of events. She asks if he had really followed her there and Dan tells her that even if they have a fight or argument, he would still be there for her. Mayor Troy goes on about the rãpë case and the lawsuit his daughter Rica had filed against Councilor Jigs.
He admits that he had kept his silence because he’s always prioritized his political career. “But everything is about to change. I stand here as a father, and I am convinced to tell all of you, whatever make-believe story Councilor Jigs fed you, they are not true.
“Because there’s only one person who’s telling the truth, and that is Rica Sicat. My daughter. Rica Sicat is the one I believe in. And I will stand with her, and trust Rica’s statement.”
The people at the city hall begin to see Jigs in a bad light due to the statement Troy had made. At Balai Arkitektura, Che gladly shows the trending video to Rica, quite hopeful that the people might start believing her. For some reason, Rica doesn’t seem pleased or enthused.
When Rose, in the company of Kyle, comes over to try to convince her not to give up, she lashes out at her and throws a childish fit before storming out. Kyle goes after her and tries to talk some sense into her but Axel frustrates his efforts.
The Sicats watch Troy’s surprising statement and Bea is convinced that more people would believe them now. As expected, Dan sulks and grumbles about the mayor’s actions, and Karla points out that he can’t deny that what Troy had done would help their daughter a lot. Speaking of, Troy returns home only to be blindsided by the ‘dëåth squad’ known as his family.
Alberto greets him with a puñch before he wrestles with Bobby when he comes at him too. Bobby accuses Troy of ruining his son’s reputation, and Troy throws one back at him as he points out that said son who’s a troublemaker and a menace ruined his own life.
Jigs makes a lame point and attempts to justify himself but Troy cuts him off and puts him in his place. Audrey looks on, silently and distressed as her husband taunts Bobby, telling him that he would no longer be a puppet of their father because he’s done following his orders blindly.
“Is it too late to save my life? Maybe. But I sure as hell would try. Now get the hell out of my house!”
Quite upset, Bobby goes for the low blow. “I slept with your wife.”
Troy freezes, shocked and speechless. Audrey seems to be hyperventilating as her husband stares at her in defeat and disbelief. Alberto, the father of the century couldn’t care less. He gets in Troy’s face and vows to torment him by stripping him of the things he values the most.
Miserable, Troy glances at Audrey before storming out. Audrey gives Bobby a look and proceeds to go after her husband. Troy isn’t that much bothered about his wife’s infidelity since he had cheated first. However, he’s horrified of the fact that she had done it with Bobby his brother.
Audrey tries to make him understand the situation. When her apology doesn’t get the desired result, she starts grumbling about how he had betrayed their family with the statement he had made earlier. She even goes to the extent of trying to guilt-trip him with how their daughter might react and feel.
Audrey is taken by surprise when Troy reveals that Raven already knows about it. In her room at the rehab center, Raven reflects on her last conversation with her father. Still, Audrey is terrified of the fact that he’s turned his back on his family and even plans to go against his father. She pleads with him to take back his public statement and Troy merely asks for them to start over.
“You, me and Raven,” Troy states. “Away from dad. Without him meddling in our lives. Nor Bobby nor Jigs. Let’s start over. Are you coming with me?”
When Audrey just pleads for him to talk to his father, a disappointed Troy gets into his car and off he goes. Meanwhile, Nico and Bea discuss about the mayor and their father. Talk turns to Bea’s relationships with Brax and Pogs. Nico urges his sister to give Pogs a chance since he lōvês her.
However, Bea goes on about how she would never fall for him. As she belittles him, Pogs looks on dejectedly a few steps away, unnoticed. Axel drops off Rica at home and reflects on his talk with Kyle regarding his feelings for Rica.
He considers telling her about his own feelings for her but as he musters the courage, he’s interrupted by the arrival of Troy. And that’s Axel’s cue to leave. Despite the damning announcement of the mayor, Jigs actually goes to a bar with his lackeys to have a good time.
Anyway, Troy tries to get through to Rica but she refuses to listen to him and even grumbles about how his announcement could make their lives more complicated. She thanks him for all he’s done for her, though she asks that they go on living their separate lives.
The only thing Troy can do is to say “sorry” before leaving dejectedly. Dan looks on with a scowl. At the bar, Kyle tries to make Axel see that Rica is just pretending to be okay.
“That will work for a while. She can hide the pain. But eventually, the time will come when her anxiety will pile up and then she will just blow up!”
Axel merely stares back with indifference.
“Avoiding the problem won’t do her any good,” Kyle points out. “And supporting her behavior won’t help her in any way.”
“Thanks, doc,” Axel taunts. “Noted.”
Kyle is exasperated. “I know what she’s going through because I’ve been there and you know that!”
Axel argues that he’s just been trying to help Rica with what she needs. Kyle lashes out at him for acting like a superhero. He then asks him to keep Rica out of whatever game he’s playing to get validation since he has lots of girls lining up for him. Axel pronounces that Rica is different, and the episode concludes with a face-off between him and Kyle.
