Family

Daniel’s mother raised him as a single parent. Padilla has seven half-siblings. Four from his father’s side and three younger half-siblings from his mother’s side.

Padilla lived for a year in Tacloban and studied there (grade 4). In 2014, Daniel registered as an AMA Education System’s student. Due to the tight schedule, he reportedly took the home study program of UST Angelicum College years back.

Showbiz Career

Daniel started his showbiz journey when joined the youth-oriented show Gimik opposite Julia Montes in 2010. The following year, he was paired with Kathryn Bernardo in Growing Up.

The drama Princess and I was launched topbilled by the tandem of Daniel and Kathryn. It became a huge success and many more TV projects followed.

Padilla’s film debut came in 2012 when he was selected to join Star Magic’s 20th anniversary ensemble cast movie as Billy Fernandez in 24/7 In Love (2012) with co-star Bernardo. They also had support roles in the film Sisterakas (2012).

The two also starred in the films She’s Dating the Gangster, Crazy Beautiful You, Barcelona: A Love Untold and Can’t Help Falling in Love.

Musical Career

Daniel also released a self-tittled Extended Play (EP) in 2012. He came up with his first single “Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat” in 2013 and became no. 1 by year’s end.

That same year, he also released his first album DJP containing his second single “Kamusta Ka”. This was followed by “I heart You” in 2014, I Feel Good in 2015. Daniel also released his compilation album in 2016 and a Christmas Album in 2015 (with Kathryn).
