Gordon Forces Jenny To Divorce Jack. Shannon Encounters Her Mother & Brother. Betsy Kicks Jenny Out Of The House.
Jenny is literally dragged into the police station and locked up in a prison cell adjacent to the one Ethan is locked up in. She begins ranting and blaming Ethan. Meanwhile, Windsor watches over Shannon (Pinky) as she sleeps and reflects on how Jack had beaten him in finding her.
His mother comes to take him downstairs to have a talk with him so Shannon could get some rest. Mrs. Gao shows her son a ring the housekeeper had found in his room. She figures out what it means and asks if his feelings for Shannon is genuine or out of pity because of how the real Shannon had died.
Windsor admits that initially, he had saved Pinky and had been there for her because he sympathized with her situation. However, he now feels much more for her and wants to take care of her for the rest of her life. Giselle objects to such a union because she doesn’t want to lose another daughter again.
Windsor apologizes and says that he won’t make the same mistake of letting go of the one he lōvês. Shannon (Pinky) comes upon the scene and makes it clear to Windsor that she would never accept him but would go back to the Hungs. And that’s Windsor’s cue to walk away.
Shannon (Pinky) asks Giselle if what she’s doing to Windsor is too cruel and she tells her not to worry because time will cure all his wounds. In the meantime, Jenny suffers a nightmare where Pinky springs out of the sea to strangle her.
After she jerks awake, she begins making a fuss to be let out of the cell. Ethan is released and he confronts Jenny over how she had deceived him. When Ethan asks if Jenny had been planning to kill ‘that woman’, she plays dumb and lamely accuses him again. Once he arrives home, he begs his parents for causing trouble again.
Mr. Lin is pretty upset over how Ethan had let himself be fooled by Jenny. Ethan asks about who bailed him out and he’s surprised to learn that it was the woman he had kidnapped. Windsor packs up his stuff to leave for the states. He apologizes to his mom and promises not to give her a hard time anymore when he returns.
After saying his goodbyes, Windsor heads out the door with his luggage and Mrs. Gao makes a futile attempt to stop him. Shannon gets wind of Windsor’s departure but she’s a moment too late to stop him. Jenny is tormented by another nightmare featuring Betsy, Gordon and her son Shawn.
Jack also makes an appearance in the dream. A woman stands with him and Jenny can’t figure out whether she’s Pinky or Shannon. Jenny turns and comes face-to-face with two guñs. As she screams out, the sound of guñshöts ring, startling her awake a second time.
The next morning at Shufon, Mr. Hung hands over the divorce agreement to Jenny and asks her to sign it. Jenny begins ranting and stalling so Gordon merely tells her that if she refuses to sign, then she would go back to jail. Jenny is compelled to sign the paper painstakingly.
At the construction site, Ethan and his father deliver some materials and Jack tells them that they wouldn’t be doing business with them anymore. Mr. Lin strives to reason with Jack but he turns a deaf ear and tries to run them off. Ethan gets in his face and that’s the beginning of another confrontation.
Mrs. Lin comes upon the scene and in her attempt to restore order, she accidentally gets knocked down against a brick and rendered unconscious. Meanwhile, Mrs. Hung kicks out Jenny from the house and refuses to listen to her pleas.
When Jenny asks to get some of her things, Betsy calls out a maid. The maid carries Jenny’s clothing in two black polythene bags and she dumps it at her feet and disappears. Jenny calls Betsy ‘mom’ and pleads with her to lend her some money.
However, Betsy slãps her and storms off. Left with no other choice, Jenny begins walking the street. A couple of Jenny’s clothes fall out of the polythene bags and she’s stared at by onlookers as she picks them up.
At the Gao residence, Giselle informs Shannon that Jenny has already signed the divorce agreement and Gordon has paid off all her debt. Shannon is eager to get to the office to take over Venus, only for Giselle to break to her the news of her mother being at the hospital.
Ethan is itching to sue Jack for the part he had played in his mother’s injury but Mr. Lin talks him out of it since Mr. Hung had already sent some compensation money and even apologized. Cue in Mrs. Gao tells Ethan that he needs to swallow the insults for now if he wants revenge.
Ethan apologizes for the trouble he had caused her and Mrs. Gao takes father and son away to get some blood tonic she had brought for Mrs. Lin. Shannon (Pinky) makes her appearance as soon as her brother and father are out of sight.
She sits by her unconscious mother’s bedside and promises to make sure Jack and his family get the punishment they deserve. As she cries over how much she’s missed her, Ethan returns just then and has a glimpse of her before she runs off. He goes after her and Shannon evades him and slips away.
Jenny continues to walk around at night misërãbly, carrying the two polythene bags containing her clothes. She finds her former company Venus, closed down, and since she can’t get inside, she picks up her bags and carries on so pathetically.
She receives a phone call from her son and as she tries to talk to him, Betsy compels Shawn to hang up at home. Jenny reflects on her engagement with Jack and vows to make sure that no one keeps them apart.
Giselle stops Shannon from getting herself drunk and urges her to tell her family the truth already. Shannon says she needs a little more time to complete her revenge. She plans on talking to Jack and getting engaged to him as soon as possible.
She would then move into Jack’s house, take over Venus and everything else the Hung family has. The next morning, Shannon meets up with Jack and talks him into having an engagement next Sunday. Jack promises to make her the happiest woman in the world.
At home, he informs his family about his upcoming engagement with Shannon. Gordon gets upset and asks if he thinks marriage is as casual as eating his meals. He asks Jack to wait half a year. Or never. After he storms off, Jack talks his mother into coming to his engagement.
Shawn asks his father if he’s really going to marry someone else, and Jack tells him that it’s an adult thing so he should stay out of it. He says the new ‘mommy’ he’s going to marry is way better than his real mommy. Shawn bluntly tells his father that he can never accept that. After declaring that he hates daddy, he storms off.
Shirleen reprimands her brother because of how he keeps divorcing and marrying. After she also storms off, Pauline confronts Jack and calls him a slutty and flirty, spoiled man. Jack eyes her casually and scoffs, saying that ‘slutty’ is a word for women.
And with that, he dismisses her. Jenny rents a shabby little room with the little money she has left. She actually believes that she would rise again and return to the Hung family one day.
Shawn pesters his grandma for his mother so Shirleen resorts to calming him down with fake promises to find his mother. Jenny spies silently as Shirleen and her mother drive away in a car.
