“You saved us a trip to the hospital. Congressman Cabrera, you are under arrest on the charge of kidnãpping. They can alter the election results? In that case, we have to safeguard those voting machines.”
The members of the Vendetta observe as another car pulls over near the house. General Olegario is shocked to see who steps out of the vehicle, headed inside – William Celerio, the special assistant to the president, the only person entrusted with all secret information. The group begin wondering why he’s meeting up with Lucas and Hipolito and Cardo declares that they’re definitely working together.
Inside, William discusses with his partners in crime how he would get the president’s source code. Catherine calls Marissa on phone and tries to manipulate her to have her husband help Lucas in clearing up his name. Marissa won’t be fooled so 2nd Lady asks to meet up with her later over a cup of coffee.
This woman doesn’t waste time to gate-crash the Palace. She pesters the 1st Lady, whining over how her husband is being persecuted after all the help he had given to their countrymen. As Oscar comes over, Catherine reveals that Lucas plans to turn their son over to the police to prove his innocence.
Catherine ups her game and continues with her questionable drama as President Hidalgo looks on silently. Meanwhile, William calls Bermudez, a tech specialist to tell him that he would be needing his expertise tomorrow.
As the members of Vendetta break out in three groups to tail their targets simultaneously, Oscar talks on phone with Lucas about his plan to turn his son in, and Lucas puts on a show to trick him. While the CIDG strive to figure out the identity of the woman Brandon had left the bar with, Catherine meets up with her husband.
“I have done what you asked of me,” 2nd Lady tells the vice president. “I did my best to befriend Marissa. I even cried in front of her.”
“Did she buy it?” Lucas merely asks.
“I think so.”
Marissa tells her husband about her talk with Catherine and how she feels sorry for her. However, she hopes that the result of the investigation would come out soon so they would finally know who’s really telling the truth.
Meanwhile, the Dalisay family take delight in the fact that the senatorial candidates of the vice president are sliding down in the surveys. Captain Gina passes by with her entourage and followers, campaigning in her own style.
Paco suggests that they keep an eye on the captain so she doesn’t cheat to win the elections. Anyway, Brandon is being brought out of the hospital when some reporters surround him and his family and press for comments.
As if on cue, Catherine puts on an overly dramatic show to defend and her son and her family. The Vendetta observe, with Greco wondering if the 2nd Lady really doesn’t know anything about her husband and son’s wickedness.
“For all we know, they’re colluding with one another,” Ramil states. “This is just a cover-up.”
The Flower Power Girls discuss Catherine’s actions on live TV, with a couple of them believing that it’s nothing but an act.
Vice President Cabrera shocks everyone by announcing that he’s going to turn his son in to prove that he’s really innocent. As Lucas badmouths Brother Lorenzo, General Borja watches the live broadcast with his men, and so does Miss Becky and her girls who aren’t the least bit happy.
Billy hands Delfin a report of the crime lab’s findings on the fingerprints lifted from the house of the congressman. It’s a positive match for Brandon and Lorenzo. At the Palace, the source code has been created for the president to type in his seven secret characters code.
With the customized flash drive inserted, Oscar takes his time in doing so as William eyes him. Seems like some kind of surveillance device has been planted in one of the lights above.
After the president is done, some members of the council assure him that he’s the only one who can access the voting machines by the way of the flash drive he’s been given.
On that note, they urge him to protect the flash drive and the source code he’s created. While the members of Vendetta regroup at their hideout to share info, wondering whether the president is involved in everything going on, Oscar secures the flash drive in a box in his safe as William observes.
Vice President Cabrera boldly brings his son Brandon to the precinct amidst the presence of tons of pressmen. Lucas rubs in his ‘good gesture’ and General Borja meets him halfway and thanks him for bringing his son in. Talk about a major setback.
“You saved us a trip to the hospital,” Delfin merely says.
Lucas and Brandon seem confused. A moment later away from the media, the General reveals the evidence proving that Brother Lorenzo had indeed been confined and törtùred in Brandon’s house. Catherine argues that the evidence was planted.
“It was well documented,” Delfin retorts. He then serves the arrest warrant to the vice president and cues Billy and his team to restrain Brandon. “Congressman Cabrera, you are under arrest on the charge of kidnåppiñg.”
“You’ll hear from my lawyers,” Lucas says so lamely.
“That is your right, sir,” Delfin taunts.
When the president learns of Brandon’s arrest, he calls General Borja to commend him and his men for taking swift action. Stating that they’re only doing their job, Delfin mentions that they would continue the investigation to find out if there were others responsible for Brother Lorenzo’s abduction.
On his way out of the CIDG headquarters, Lucas is confronted by the press about Brandon’s arrest but he doesn’t say squat.
The news of Congressman Cabrera’s arrest goes viral and Grandma Flora and her family deliberate on it, and Hipolito’s possible involvement. The Alano family also watch the news, with Lorenzo declaring that the guilty party were not allowed by the Almighty to be free from their own transgression.
Speaking of transgression, William goes through the president’s laptop and easily discovers the source code he had created.
Catherine is bothered by the many problems her husband has gotten himself in. She asks if he can solve all of them and Lucas declares that he can and will get away with everything.
Back at the Palace, William has second thoughts about pushing through with his plan since the president might get suspicious. Alyana has trouble job hunting because of her connection to Cardo. Speaking of, the Vendetta deliberate on the recent happenings and William’s involvement.
“…unless the vice president intentionally had his son arrested,” speculates General Olegario. “In order to gain the public’s sympathy. And win the election for Renato and their party.”
“The air of confidence,” Ramil chimes in. “As though he knew what he was doing. You know how it is among our people – we’re easily swayed by pity. I’m willing to bet some people will still vote for Cabrera even if he’s in jail. Even if his crimes are out in the open.”
“Cardo, what do you think?” Diana asks.
“I strongly suspect there’s another reason why they’re talking to Celerio,” declares our favorite hero. “What they’re doing is ensuring the election of Director Hipolito and Congressman Cabrera.”
William Celerio is having cold feet about his plans and even willing to return all the money he’s been given. However, Vice President Cabrera won’t have that, so he blāckmails the poor guy with how he had covered up a corruption case for him. Turns out that William had stolen a huge sum of money from one of Oscar’s projects.
Psyçhö Marco is beside himself and very upset that his mother hadn’t been able to convince Alyana to come back to him. He throws a fit and Lucas shuts him up and demands that he stay away from Cardo’s wife if he has any regard for their family. Psyçhö Marco bluntly refuses to do that. A war of words ensue between father and son.
“You have to forget Alyana!” Lucas demands. “She’ll only bring you and this family down!”
“No!!!” Marco bellows. He then accuses his father and Brandon of being the ones dragging their family down. Catherine holds back her husband before he can lay his hands on their son.
General Olegario brainstorms Cardo’s earlier speculations and a number of the guys begin suspecting the president as the mastermind. Speaking of, Lucas tries to make Oscar believe that General Borja had planted the evidence to incriminate Brandon in order to protect his grandson.
He notes that Cardo’s number 1 enemy is Hipolito who is his (Lucas’) ally. Oscar doesn’t seem to buy the act because of the vice president’s alliance with Hipolito who’s being investigated by the CIDG. Lucas says since nothing has been proven yet, then it’s his word the president should accept.
However, President Hidalgo declares that it’s the evidence he finds credible and not their friendship. Lucas gives Oscar a look before storming off. Back at the tenement, General Olegario successfully predicts the next move Hipolito and his cohorts would make – to manipulate the voting machines.
“To my knowledge, it’s the Palace that possesses the key to these voting machines through a source code,” Diana announces.
“They can alter the election results?” Happy asks.
Genera Olegario sighs. “It’s possible.”
Cardo glances at Romulo and Ramil in trepidation. “In that case, we have to safeguard those voting machines.”
