“Are you actually laughing at me? I’m offering you a job because your design was good. And that was even before I found out that you and ‘that girl’ are one and the same.”
Raven celebrates a friend’s birthday with some others at a club. Said friend slumps into a chair from too much drinking, and Raven slips away to order a pineapple juice. She runs into Chino who tries to make a pass at her. Out of nowhere comes Kyle, making Raven all excited for the wrong reasons.
Kyle exchanges greetings with Raven, and she recounts how he had stood her up on prom night during their high school days. Kyle says something had come up back then and Raven trivializes the matter. Much to Kyle’s displeasure, Chino asks Raven to collaborate with them on a project and she gladly agrees.
Karla tosses around in bed and admonishes her husband for pretending to be asleep. She asks what’s up with him and Dan apologizes for raising her voice at the kids earlier. Karla points out that it’s the kids he should be apologizing to.
Kyle wakes up and after making his bed, he turns on some music and dances his way to the bathroom. Simultaneously, Rica comes out of her washroom and proceeds to freshen up, just as Kyle gets himself ready for work. On his way, he takes a long look at a portrait of himself and his father.
“Finally, dad,” Kyle says with a smile. “Now I have the chance to ask her how she’s doing.”
Karla is engaging her viewers on Face Chat when she bumps into her husband in the house. Dan cautions her that her face might hurt from all the smiling, and Karla tells him that she needs to keep her spirits up so all her items will get sold out. She tries logging into her account, only to learn that it’s been suspended due to ‘fråudulënt activities’.
Kyle is on edge and doesn’t seem to pay attention to Chino as he talks about some proposed budget in his office. He goes ahead to kick out his friend, saying that he has an appointment. A moment later, he asks Rose if Rica has arrived yet and she tells him that she’s already on her way.
Rica lingers outside Balai Arkitektura and reflects on how her mother had given her the other key chain Kyle also has. Presently, Rica dawdles outside the company, and when she finally decides to proceed, she’s cut off by a car which pulls over nearby. Rica stares as if she’s seen a ghost.
Kyle is eagerly waiting for Rica when Raven shows her face and strives to strike a decent conversation with him. Kyle doesn’t seem interested, even as Chino joins them and presses for the collaboration to come on. Meanwhile, Rica receives a phone call from Rose.
“Are you here yet?” Rose asks. “Just a heads-up. Raven Ramones just arrived.”
“Yes, I just saw her. I saw her go inside.”
A flashback reveals how Rica had seen Raven climbing out of the car and right into the office premises. Presently, Rose offers to let her know once Raven leaves. However, Rica declines, saying that she can’t go on with the interview.
“What?”
“Maybe it’s actually a sign,” Rica begins. “A reminder that if I stay here in Sidero, I’ll just keep bumping into people I’m trying to avoid.”
“But… we’re supposed to keep fighting. Isn’t that what you said? If you don’t show up today, your application with us will be permanently cancelled.”
Glancing at the company building, Rica apologizes for the trouble and hangs up. Meanwhile, Karla is trying to sell some of her bags when a snobby neighbor resolves to verbal âbüse on account of the rumors involving her and the mayor. Snobby neighbor’s friend however seems interested and wants to buy one of the bags.
As Raven leaves Balai Arkitektura after a one-sided tour, Dan runs into some buddies of his on his way home. They invite him to join them in drinking since one of them is celebrating his birthday. Birthday guy nicknamed him ‘hothead’ since he’s got a reputation of ‘letting his fist do the talking’.
“I’m sorry, man. Work’s been crazy today, that’s why I can’t join the fun.” Some random drunk jeers. “Busy. Just like that…wife of yours, Mrs. Hothead. I heard Kakay’s busy throwing herself at the may…”
Dan knocks down the guy with a single pünch before he can finish the last word. The other guys restrain him as the drunk continues doing what drunks do best – talking nõnsënse. Back home, snobby neighbor engages Kakay, who makes it clear that the mayor is the one who has been approaching her.
Nico hurries over with Pogs to add to the fun. Snobby neighbor resolves to insültiñg both mother and son, and God being so good, she slips on poop on the floor and falls. Karla takes the opportunity to make mockery of her as Nico and Pogs laugh at her. At Balai Arkitektura, Kyle has all his appointments cancelled for the day after learning that Rica hadn’t shown up.
While mayor Troy stares, transfixed at a photo of Karla on his phone, Kyle shows up at the Sicat residence to ask about Rica. Nico is engrossed in a video game with Pogs, and he carelessly says that his sister has already gone to Iloilo for the job. It’s only when Kyle hurries back into his car that Pogs reminds him that Rica hasn’t taken that job yet.
“Did I say Iloilo?”
Pogs chuckles. “You’re unbelievable.” And then it’s straight back to the game.
Kyle quickly checks the flight schedule to Iloilo and begins to wonder why he’s stressing himself so much. He comes to the conclusion that Rica is doing better now because she’s going away. He brings out the key chain Karla had given him as he broods.
Raven receives a surprise visit from her mother at the office. Since Audrey hasn’t been there for a while now, girl is all excited thinking dear mother is there to check up on her. However, the excitement dïës off once Audrey asks her to record them for the benefit of the public and her reputation.
Karla finds her husband passed out and snoring on the floor. She’s appalled to realize that he’s been drinking. She drags him into their room and dumps him onto the bed. Dan begins mumbling about the mayor, and Karla reacts, saying that she would have wiped the floor with her face if she didn’t lôvë him so much.
“Because you know I’m no good…or because I’m not a rich guy?”
Karla looks on pathetically.
“Is having money the only way… that a guy can be a good husband and father? I’ll do anything to make sure I don’t lose my family. Anything… anything.”
Karla seems to be on the brink of tears now. Meanwhile, Kyle checks out the last unfinished message of Rica and hopes that she’s okay. He finds an identical key chain of his and proceeds to pick it up from the floor.
A scarf flies in his face and he catches it in midair, dangerously close to the edge of the Constantino building. Suddenly, some hands grab him and pull him back to safety.
Kyle stares back at her savior – Rica. Rica shoves Kyle away and turns away from him, scolding him over how he had almost fallen over because of a scarf. Kyle catches her as she stumbles and proceeds to introduce himself. Rica is shocked to learn that he’s Rose’s boss, though she’s glad to see that her missing key chain has been found.
A flashback reveals how Rica had lost her key chain and scarf earlier when she had come to contemplate on the apex of the Constantino building, as well as how she had saved Kyle from falling down to his dëath. Presently, Rica gladly retrieves her key chain. Kyle apologizes, saying that he thought it was his, prompting Rica to burst into laughter.
“Are you actually laughing at me?” Kyle asks.
“I just find it hard to imagine,” Rica says. “That you, and this,” she adds, holding up the key chain.
Rica apologizes, but Kyle says it’s nice to see her laughing after what had happened there some time ago. Rica asks how she’s supposed to work for him when he sees her trying to jump off a building. Kyle states that the situation shouldn’t have to remain awkward, and Rica urges him not to hire her because he feels sorry for her.
“I’m offering you a job because your design was good,” Kyle declares. “When I saw your designs…I already knew that I wanted you in Balai. And that was even before I found out that you and ‘that girl’ are one and the same.”
Rica is surprised for the second time in a row to realize that Kyle is her mysterious friend. Again, Kyle urges her to come work for Balai Arkitektura. A moment later, they both descend the stairs and come to understand how they always miss each other whenever they come there.
Kyle assures Rica that the job would be hers if she shows up at the office tomorrow. “If you don’t, then I swëâr to never bother you again.” Rica gives him a little smile before they both leave the Constantino building in opposite directions.
